I would email deloitte before cancelling as I had my IST date changed due to a holiday. I emailed them as soon as I got my date with the holiday details.

After I wrote that message I asked my dad if he wanted to go in my place, he is so happy at going on holiday now I am not going to ask for a reschedule.

Sorry to hear this Gracie :(

Keep checking here for the next campaign as the folk here tend to know before the rest of the public lol

Lol will do!! I'd prepared myself for it after the pass emails last night...was a good learning experience anyway even to prepare me for the next time so I'm not too upset just mildly disappointed. Someone has already said something about jan 2015 as a rumour for the next campaign and it's only four months away so hopefully that will happen and I WILL pass next time. Always with the PMA!!

Good luck with the rest of this campaign homer01 DM me if you hear any further campaign dates or rumours!!

Just before I leave until the next campaign I found a quote for all, like me, who didn't pass this time

"Don't let today's disappointments cast a shadow on tomorrow's dreams"

    :)

Passed 2nd time around and improved my score by 10 points. For those that failed this campaign, this is a perfect example that knowing what to expect on the day makes all the difference.

well today was just perfect. first a load of my so-called friends graduated from college and when i went to congratulate them they just laughd at me. then i get an email saying i failed the ist BY 2 POINTS!. so the 6 hour drive to fermanagh was for nothing. then my father gives out to nefordoing nothing with my life. then i find out i failed the irish civil service exam....fan-fussing-tastic.....

I won't say I've been there and done it but it's all life learning. Your time will come and you'll look back and laugh at this now. Take a day or two, then pick yourself up and get on with showing them all you're made of tougher stuff and destined for greater things. I've hit rock bottom a couple of weeks ago and thought fcuk it, nothing goes on hold and if I'm at my very lowest the only place I can go is up. Very cliche I know but it's very true x

DC I tried to pm you back, delete some bloody messages lol ;) I'm quite buzzing about the AC now. Wasn't looking forward to the IST or the PCA lol, wait to you see, I'll get right round again to where I am now and then get a call from 2013 campaign lol!!!

Any looking to do courses for AC's I really wouldn't waste my time/money especially if you're from a customer service back ground. It's only my opinion but it felt very familiar to what they're looking for. Just saying, not looking for a back lash here lol!

Hi LG, why don't you just go for the AC for the practice?? Seems a shame to pass IST and then not go any further and practice makes perfect even for the next time a campaign comes up :)

Question for people who have been in my situation before. As far as I am aware there were two campaigns within the last six months of each other. There was one in October last year and one in may. Do anyone know if that will be the same again this year or is that it for recruitment for the time being?

Don't think anyone will know the answer to that, was odd having 2 recruitments overlapping/so close to one another. All depends on the shape of PSNIs budget for the next x years

They used to do it quite a bit. I know of someone who was in 3 campaigns at one time. Don't know how they coped. I think 2 is bad enough lol.

Given all these budget cuts I'll be happy if they finish these two first.

There is talk of a campaign in January 2015.

People who really truly want it, have been applying & getting the door slammed in their face for YEARS & are still trying to live the dream they've wanted from being little kids.

Your ability to just throw it away gives the impression that it might not have been for you anyway.

Good luck in whatever you choose next kid :)

No man you are wrong actually. I want it really badly. I applied for the gardai when i was just finishing school. I was through to medical pending my leaving cert results when the mortorium came in. I have been in the reserve for quite a number of years and i do enjoy it but i feel it is time for me to move on. I got through to stage 2 of the garda recruitment but didnt get selected for stage 3. Im on hold with it at the moment and i really dont know if i will ever get a real chance with the garda. I felt i did well in the IST but was 2 points short of the Assessment Centre.
Since completing college and doing my masters, having seen other people in my course heading off and travelling around the world, some to the states, some to austrailla, new zealand, dubai, Korea etc, i starting to think maybe i want to get out of ireland for a bit and do some travelling.
Its not that im being pessismistic or anything i kind of want to experience more now. Im tired of seeing the same place, doing the same job, drinking in the same nightclub. I want to experience something different. Its that simple. I just need a break.
