I'm an Everton fan - apparently Lakaku is a big doubt for tomorrow or at least not match fit. Also Everton have a tough opening 6 games.

    Cheers, I'll ditch him so.

So, Dzeko or Costa to replace him ye reckon?

This is it.. not touching it anymore, not even looking at this forum or the FPL site again before the deadline, no chance... no way... Ughh, who am I kidding! :o

I am fairly certain this will be it though with the only exception being to stick with Wilson and Taylor or go with Pieters and another £4mil option in defence which I don't think is wise!

    yes, Lamela or eriksen ?:pac:

If your unsure about a simple swap, you could wait until GW2 or 3 and look at highlights of how Eriksen played, etc. before putting him in.

@Jesper - literally none of the 4mill CB's are certs. Upgrade a couple to 4.5 if you can.

@last poster - Why Ireland? Not assured to start. You could downgrade to a 4.5 or around the ball park of 5.5 with him.

    Defence Updated.

Chambers, Debuchey, Davies - (subs - Bruce, Hutton)

Some reason I can't get the pic to upload. I've put this together today and am lost this year due to not following at all:

    GK: Mannone (SUN) (Myhill, WBA)
DF: Collins (WHU), Vergini (SUN), Chambers (ARS), Blackett (MUN), Wisdom (WBA)
MF: Ramsey (ARS), Wanyama (SOU), Lamela (TOT), Oscar (CHE), Mata (MUN)
FW: Rooney (MUN), Sturridge (LIV), Adebayor (TOT).

I know having Blackett is a risk but I feel it's a risk worth taking. Hopefully he'll play Saturday and then I'll catch a quick price rise before shipping him out for a 4.5m player who I know will play.

I think I'm overdoing Spurs too in midfield. Possibly I'd be better off bringing in Dzeko instead of Adebayor?

City games not the kindest but I would get one in.
Jovetic has had the better pre season, he's been banging them in. Should be fairly safe that himself and Dzeko play.

I've no city cover either which is worrying, especially for GW1 now that it's been confirmed they are without a whole load of players. That said i was looking at trying to squeeze Jovetic in earlier but decided against it. Should be safe to start this weekend but for how long is the question, surely he will be out again as soon as Aguero is fit which could be next weekend?

Jovetic has scored a decent amount this pre season so gonna go with him for the first couple of weeks anyways. It frees up .5m, and thinking of going Oscar -> Fabregas. But I'm thinking Oscar will be furthest forward so it may be best to keep him instead. More potential for points scoring.

    Might just keep the .5m.

I really like that, but I would seeing as I have 9 out of those 15 players.

Of the ones that are different, I have Fabregas instead of Hazard, and Pieters instead of Bardsley.

I really want a Stoke defender, but can not stretch to Shawcross. There's competition everywhere across the rest of the back line that has me worried. I think Cameron will replace Bardsley long term. I think Pieters will play more than Bardsley.

If you can afford it I'd try to get Fabregas in instead of Oscar.

Fabregas will be on direct/in-direct free-kicks (He scored one v Vitesse in pre-season) and corners and Oscar has been off-form since December.

Fabregas has also created a couple of goals for Costa from both the deeper role and behind the striker. They seem to have a great understanding already.

Oscar has only had 45 mins v Real Sociedad and 50 mins v Ferencvaros so there's a big chance he'll only play 60-65 mins against Burnley.

Would be grateful if anyone can recommend a 4.5 million defender that will play please?

    Thanks

I've a lot of similar players there as well, went for Cameron, I'd be hoping he'll get a game tomorrow at RB if not at CB

Kinda getting spooked about not having Costa .. though not sure is it worth ripping my midfield up for a forward line of Costa-Rooney-Jovetic.

There's plenty of defenders that should play regularly at that price:
    Ferdinand (QPR)
    Chester (Hull)
    Taylor (Swansea)
    Coloccini/Williamson (Newcastle)
    O'Shea, Van Aanholt etc. (Sunderland)

    Other temporary options:
Chambers (Arsenal) while Mertesacker is out
Kyle Naughton (Spurs) while Walker is out
Blackett (Man Utd) while Evans/Shaw is out
Vlaar for the first 3 games after that fixtures get VERY ugly for Villa

    Thanks for that.

    Already had O'Shea.

Worried a bit about Newcastle as they have about 4 first team players out injured atm.

Rafael is back fit for Utd and might play tomorrow so not sure about Blackett. But already have Mata, DDG and Rooney anyway.

Gone for Chambers, I think that that is a really really good suggestion.

Do you think any of the below might play:

    Luke Moore - Leicester
    Cameron - Stoke
    Wisdom - WBA

    Thanks

Moore will play but Leicester have Everton, Chelsea (A), Arsenal up first so probably no cleanies and probably a couple of Negative pts for goals conceded.

Cameron is a major doubt now that Bardsley has joined Stoke.

Wisdom will start the first couple of games but could be replaced by Gamboa (Costa Rican wing-back from World Cup).

Mike Duff for Burnley could be a shout.

    Hart
    Terry Cameron Lovern
    Herrera Sanchez Young Hazard
    Jelavic Lukaku Rooney(c)

    Subs: Mannone, Caulker, Wisdom, Davis

Anyone have an opinion on this? Not sure about it to be honest.

Think this draft is it for me now.

    gk's = krul/guzan

    Def = Terry,jones,chambers,wisdom,bruce

    Mid = ramsey,mata,couthino,sigurdsson,mutch

    Forwards = Rooney,Costa,Jovetic

I've gone with chambers because i think i can make a small profit and spent the extra .5 million on terry because of the uncertainty with the chelsea back 4 hopefully terry is safe.

My biggest gamble is jovetic, if it doesn't pay off il downgrade and use the money elsewhere. I just don't feel safe without city cover, they are champions after all and I think they'll bounce back after the arsenal game. I tried my best to fit yaya in but it just leaves me to short at the back and elsewhere and tbh it scares me not having him but if needs be ill get him.

I've gone with ramsey over sanchez until sanchez proves otherwise.

    http://gyazo.com/53a73243ace60f26a5f3fa37faa54a7a

Not too sure how to use gyazo but ye should be able to see my team there?

Wasn't sure if I'd play this year but said I'd give it a bash.

    Main points of note:
    - £1m in the bank to allow for upgrades.
    - Was going to rotate Krul with either Mannone or Foster, but looking at the first 6 weeks I'd likely play Krul most weeks, plus there's a bit of doubt surrounding Mannone.
    - Don't really fancy United defence with Evans out (who I rate highest of their central defenders) but didn't see many alternatives at the price range so will go with Jones. Favouable fixtures too.
    - Chambers is only there for short term. Will likely replace with Stoke defender as early as possible when there's more clarity as to who their starting back four is.
    - Hate Hutton as a defender, and don't rate Villa's defense at all (especially if Vlaar goes to Lazio) but the only other I could see at the price range was Leicester defenders and they have an awful start. Bruce if he is a starter would be a better option.
    - Originally had Hazard but switched to Fab due to Hazard's lack of preseason. Funds available for upgrade. If Costa is on penalties I won't be getting Hazard as the value will be gone.
    - Reckon Hoilett is good value at 5m playing OOP but gametime isn't fully guaranteed (didn't start every game in championship last season and got subbed off a lot). Besic for Everton could be aninteresting option but I'll give him a while to settle. Ramirez is another cheapie who could come good this year but 5.5m is an awkward price.
    - Sanchez over Ramsey was a tough choice, especially as I was one of those burned by Ramsey last year.
    - Really wanted to fit in Lamela as a punt but couldn't find space. Despite his potential though, it really is a joke that he's the same price as Eriksen who scored so well last year.
    - Third striker choice wasn't that easy but plumped for Fletcher in the end, hopefully he's on penalties but looks unlikely. Was very tempted by Bent.

Thoughts welcome and best of luck to all with the new season.

Interesting looking at the ownership percentages on the FPL site, the teams on here are quite different to a lot of the main ownerships (e.g Sturridge, Lovren, Yaya etc).

I don't know how it has happened but Jack Rodwell has not only appeared in my squad, but he's starting this week.

    Mother of god.....

    Aghhhhhhhhh.......

Will post my reasoning when I figure it out:

    Basically went
    From:
Silva, Bojan & 4.5 mid sub that I'd no confidence with
    To:
    Jovetic, Rodwell & Siggy

Siggy to come in for Rodwell after GW1.

My bench was pretty weak so Rodwell offers a little more and I got a glimpse of Bojan getting a lot of 60 min appearances to ease him in.
City cover switched from Silva to Jovetic who I've a feeling will do quite well.

Am I mad? I feel like I am.

    De Gea Hamer
van Aanholt Terry Debuchy Moore Hutton
    Ramsey Fabregas Coutinho Mata Isgrove
    Rooney Costa Fletcher

Think I've settled on this... but will probably change it again a billion times tomorrow (if the site doesn't crash!).
