I'm in the same boat. What the problem is I just dont know

Frustrating as fook. If I had to guess I would say they are shipping them faster than they are updating the service databases with IMEI numbers.

Yep this a disaster alright I have tried a good few sellers now and no joy, think I might have to fork out the 20 quid to tesco to get it unlocked

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,813 ✭✭✭taytobreath

I sent them an email to see whats the hold up I got this in return.....
Hi apologies for taking so long, unfortunately the code is still pending in the software but as soon as we get a code for you we will send you it straight away

so theres still a glimmer of hope yet

    edit... just got this email
Hi unfortunately we have put your IMEI into more than one server but no code has came back, we can only apologize for the inconvenience and offer you a refund

No luck here either, pain in the stones.

Taytobreath, was that Tesco mobile you emailed? When they say refund, do they mean the phone?

As I'd nearly send mine back and just buy the sim free one.

No it was the ebay unlock crowd.
its looking that ill have to return it too, but there is another way
you have to ring this number 00443453006660
its tesco mobile and apparently they will unlock it for you for a fee of £20

I just have to get someones phone as my network only allows ringing irish numbers, another pain in the balls for me

I've just got off the phone with Tesco, I'm just sending it back and getting the sim free one. Fed up with this unlocking malarky, I'll pay the extra 15 for the sim free one and get a years warranty.

Have you already opened the phone from the packaging? Are they still gonna accept it even if it's opened ? Are you gonna drive up north and to return it or post it?

    Please let us know

    Cheers

I emailed my IMEI to this seller and he confirmed he had a code so I just now sent payment.
BTW I am a tesco mobile ireland customer and thought I wouldn't need an unlock!

Edit: It worked! My phone was received a couple weeks ago though.

yeah im thinking the same thing as him^^
my imei is on that list

I rang tesco mobile today and in order to request an unlock code I had to top up by 20 euro. But my visa card is irish and they weren't accepting irish cards for some reason. So as a gratuity they topped up my phone free of charge and I have to wait a few days for them to send the code to me now.
So I got a good result regarding that.
20 mins on skype to an english number at a cost of 50 cents, handyyyyyy:)

Anyone looking to sell their old Moto G?

I've the non 4G/SD Card 8GB Moto G and I'm really fed up at the lack of both.

I live in an area where I can get 4G indoors from all major providers so it'd really be great to have.

As for having an SD card I love to take pictures so being able to just have access to a physical SD card would be great.

Also seen some people on here saying they think the Moto G has a bad camera but I personally think it's grand, like most cameras it needs a good bit of light to take a good picture.

Is it the locked Tesco Mobile Moto G that comes with the 2 free cases?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately that plan was all going well until they figured out I lived in the republic of Ireland. So that plan has been scrapped!

My IMEI is on that list too so I might take this route also, I hope someone takes pity and just sorts it as easy as that.

they took pity on me, tell them you fecked up the order by getting the locked version instead of the unlocked version.

Lads, you can buy the 4G Moto G version for €170 delivered from Meteor!

That seems to be the best deal now that the £15 off Tesco code doesn't seem to work any more

I wonder how long its been up?

I only saw it by chance.

Any idea if they have it for the same price in the shops?

Finally got my phone unlocked. It only took a day for tesco to send me the code.

Yeah another user bought one in store, but it was priced 10 euro more.

The guy working there matched the online price though.

Trying to find the post, might be in another thread.

Give them a ring and see if they have it in stock.

Heres the post from the other thread:.
Cheers for the heads up about Meteor. I just picked one up: it was online for €170, the staffer said it was €180 in-store, I told her the online price and she dropped it there and then. It has a meteor sim in it (my mistake) but I'm off to ebay to get it unlocked now. Any recommendations for who to use?

Turns out it was a girl and not a guy,
the feminazi's will kill me! :p
