Feel for Kaymer being out with Rory and Bubba today... he is going to feel very short! Rory smashed his down the first outdriving Bubba.

Bubba smashes his drive into crowd with no shout of fore. Think the doglegged nature of this course could suit Bubba with his shotmaking off the tee.

Anyone know how did Edoardo Molinari get into this one ?

Invite for being inside WGR top 100.

Luiten with his first good round in quite a while, could still play himself back into the ryder cup team. Westwood and Poulter too with good rounds. Pity about Gmac, but he started poorly in the Open and still managed a top10.

Oh sweet mother i thought we'd be spared having to listen to monty since he is playing but oh no. Thanks sky. Thanks for nothing. :-P

We should play Monty bingo every time he mentions himself or says When I

Coverage is so poor yet again. See maybe 5 live shots every 10 minutes.

I hate the constant ryder cup countdown on sky and how the commentators mention it constantly

Rory finishes with -3 or better today and he'll run away with this.

He's got a 62 in him somewhere this week.

    Rory now -3.

Looking very ominous now for the rest of the field.

Surprisingly Monty is 2 clubs shorter than Garcia in his irons.

Garcia hits 7, Monty hit 5..

is he down to minus one after the tenth?

For Rory not to win this he'll have to have a bad round and a half. He can drop a shot but he's usually the type of guy who responds with 4 birdies on the bounce.

Pulled his 2nd shot left out of bounds and could only make double.

That's not true, 1 bad round could take anyone out of it. People are sounding over confident about Rory, one round could easily be enough to take him out of contention, and this year he has had lots of tournaments with 3 good rounds and one poor round.

Now a 3 putt from 30 odd feet for a bogey. Needs to settle down.

True, but he finished -1 after his first round at the WGC last week and still won it. So I would argue finishing around even par today is still a winnable position for him, that's why he needs, for me, a really bad round or two to take him out because the current form he's in, especially at the open where he could hit two eagles out of nowhere as soon as he feels pressure from Garcia and Fowler, just shows you how dangerous he can be from so far back.
