I wouldn't go that far, but I'd certainly be shítting myself at Christmas waiting for the fire/scandalous affair/patricide or whatever.

Most damning sign of impending doom in a soap opera is the line:

"This year is going to be the best Christmas ever!"

I'm waiting for someone to bring up an example of a soap doing a storyline with a teen boy having a serious masturbation problem to back up this whole "soaps accurately reflect modern society" type argument that seems to be going on. Really looking forward to youtubing it, actually, gonna be the best crappy soap stuff since that dog had a dream on neighbours!

You should look up some of the drugs storylines Home and Away have done over the years. Vaguely remember one from back in the day where they managed it without ever mentioning the word "drugs", think it was Sam who was on them.

No no no, Sam was an alco!

I've tried googling it and only found tons of articles about former cast members' drug problems :( Seems like half of them became druggies.

The other Sam from waaaaaaay back. Blondie fella, Don's son or foster kid or something (the family dynamics in that show are appallingly non-traditional, feckin media). Like back in the days when Vinnie was in it, I think it was him spotted that which shall not be named in Sam's car and had to do a lot of face-acting to convey "this is marijuana I am seeing, it is bad, no wonder Sam has been acting so strangely".

Can we stop with the soap talk please :)

It actually really freaks me out that Vinnie was about 23 or so when he was written out of the show. Felt like he was much older for whatever reason. Irene was fierce handy for the showrunners, "it's summertime, we need more young people, lets through a few abused kids into Irene's!"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Marshall found him!

I am a 20 year old male and I am thinking of saving myself until marriage.

The problem is nowadays people don't tend to wait until marriage nowadays.
I wonder if I can find a girl that will wait for me.

I am just looking for people's opinions really. Thanks

I am really sorry if this is the wrong place to post this.

    Hey Silver :),

If that's what you want to do, then go for it. I'm sure there are other people out there similar to you. There was a lady who got married in my hometown last year and both her and her husband waited until they were wed to do the deed.

It wouldn't be my cup of tea but at the same time, I don't think I should be inflicting my judgement on you. I wouldn't like someone telling me I was weird/odd/deluded for having sex before marriage and you shouldn't have to put up with that either just because you wish to wait until you are married.

I am a cynic, the fairytales lie but hopefully it works out for you. G'luck. :)

Like ok OP live your life, and if that works for you then great. The following is not an attack on you, but rather my ill thought out story that I shall submit to the Fair City production staff.

    - Guy wants to wait until marriage for sex.
    - Meets like minded girl.
    - 5 to 6 month storyline involving the wedding buildup, and associated dealing with issues of virginity and benefits of waiting.
    - Wedding episode (on Christmas day of course)
    - New Year storyline involving the guy going to the doc and finding out he has an STI
    - Divorce and totally unravelling of characters by April
    - Next plotline for dude is getting into business selling illegal cigarettes with Wayne Molloy

    Hollywood here I come

I know a lot of people who are waiting or did wait. Just because they don't make up the majority of boards users doesn't mean there aren't lots of young religious people in this country.

Yeah we'r all meant to have partners and sex.....
But marriage! well that's just something us humans invented, don't bother waiting untill you get married, it wont guarantee you a top spot in the 'after life'.....

    Whoa. So much negativity.
I don't believe in the whole try it before you buy it argument. What can be more satisfying than exploring sex with a person you'll be with for life. If both partners have slept with everyone and have done everything than sex might end up losing some of its novelty. This is a possible explanation for why so many marriages end in divorce.

My opinion on this subject changes daily sometimes hourly lol but I think it's best to wait till marriage. I've gone this long without having sex, I might as well keep going . Yes I am catholic and many of my friends both male and female are saving themselves for marriage
I wish you luck op in whatever you choose to do

OP. You say that you have a high sexual drive, but if you are a virgin, then how can you be sure?

Virgins can have high sex drives

How do you define a virgins sex drive?

Hmm good question. Speaking from experience it's the frequency of the "urge"

If you're planning to make a life long commitment to someone (in marriage) the novelty of sex will wear off eventually, regardless of whether both parties were experienced or not. Waiting until marriage just seems like deferring the inevitable.

    Yes

You mean you've never done it in the Bayou? Or did the fear of a crawfish biting your chacha put you off?

Good point but I disagree. I think 2 people who have only had sex with each other are more likely to stick out and fix whatever problems they are having in the bedroom.
I think that in marriages between 2 very experienced partners are more likely split up due to boredom in the sex dept because that's what they did in the past.

As a woman, I couldn't possibly wait until marriage knowing that my pleasure in sex will depend, in part, on the physical shape of my future husband. Some things simply can't be solved by talking.

Have you considered that you may end up being into things that your future wife might not enjoy? Without going into details, my boyfriend has some pretty "alternative" sexual interests which none of my female friends (or indeed, most women) would ever accept. If he waited until marriage he'd be doomed to being sexually frustrated and maybe cheating in the end.

Though of course things can also work out perfectly in the end. Good luck. :)

You can see a man's physical shape before marrying him.

You can easily tell if a man is overweight, athletic, slim etc

How are you going to communicate when you don't have a clue what you're talking about?

Just like a priest telling a man how he should treat his wife......
    ****in catholic church.
