Did you ever see the video for Foxtrot Unicorn Charlie Kilo by The Bloodhound Gang? There's a slo-mo of a ridiculously hot chick using a jackhammer...oh my word!

I once left my fine lace gloves on during afternoon tea. I only realised afterward. Then I used the wrong spoon. Oh how unladylike and mortifying.

    I (discreetly) laughed at that.

Behind my fan of course, I'm not a complete animal.

As can be seen from most of the comments so far, to be a lady is generally sneered at these days and while certain aspects of what it once met to be a lady undoubtedly should be (especially those of a sexual nature) but it is at the same time a shame that certain other attributes which were once considered admirable also are as rare as hen's teeth, as it would nice if they were not, such as good manners, respect for men etc.

Conversely, it is still estimable for a man to be a gentleman. It is just virtuous as ever, and thankfully. It's just a shame the female equivalent no longer is. I think there is still an inherent respect for women in western society and men are also still brought up with the notion that to be a gentleman is something to aspire to. As I say, would be nice if *some* aspects of what it used to mean to be a lady were as evident and common today, just as is the case with regards to how *some* aspects of what it once meant to be gentleman, undeniably are.

His post was pretty clear, I don't see why you would need any clarification. Unless you are just looking for thanks.

Are we sneering at afternoon tea or "flinging poop at foreign dignitaries"?
There is no "most". Seems like an excuse to go off on one on the downfall of society.
So I'd like to know his definition of being a lady for clarification
Good table etiquette? For all the laughing I would think that's standard

Good manners are universal, not gender-specific.

I consider myself to be a lady - polite, mannerly, behaving appropriately, measured and considerate. I like the word, I don't consider it to be an insult.

I don't consider myself to be a 'lady' - repressed, restrained, adhering to a false set of rigid gender roles where my personality and freedom of expression is considered something that must be unobtrusive or my sexuality something that must be denied. I subordinate myself to no one.

Tell that to the woman who told me to go **** myself a few months ago when I held a door for her because of my old fashioned beliefs that it was a mannerly thing to do, because apparently I was implying that she, as a woman, couldn't open her own door for herself, and decided to bawl me out of it for a good five minutes

Having said that, excluding the above, I think you'll find that good manners are something that go a long way in most cases, regardless of your gender.
