I think he's a Ukrainian living in Poland. The sticker on the rear of the car is in Russian.
    Might be wrong though.
Still, drove like a tosser and will now pay for it.
He quickly threw that taxi sign away didn't he...

It is indeed, either Russian or similar.

I wonder what the sign says, looks like a type of Learner sign.
From what I remember you need to buy local insurance when you enter Ukraine, wonder how it will work out for him :D

I read somewhere that due to horrendously high import duty on cars in Ukraine, many Ukrainian people work around it, by buying car in Poland, and having Polish resident person as registered co-owner - due to which they can keep driving it in Ukraine with Polish plates. I'm not sure though if that's true.
I don't believe though that such car can be used as a taxi, therefore why he took his taxi plate off the roof in seconds.

AFAIK all insurance policies issued in Poland after obtaining green card are valid in Ukraine.
This also applies to policies issued in Ireland as far as I know.

Was that woman asleep or something?

She gets out then with her high pitched voice as if it will somehow get her off almost running him over.

    Video

Would you consider pointing your camera a little more to the right? The angle seems biased towards the side of the road rather than the centre.

What is she even saying? She seems to be blaming him for ending up on the road after being hit by a car...

Any idea if the driver of that got out ok?

There was an Audi R8 driver who hit a guardrail and ended up getting his legs sliced off.

Link for those curious. NSFW (blood)

Can't find much on it from image search, looks to be American or Canadian maybe. If so he/she would be seated in the left side so may have escaped injury. If there was any passengers though, could be nasty!!

Was travelling back from Mahon Point shopping centre this evening when I was after joining the road from the slip road.
Watching my mirror as I do I noticed a Space wagon on the overtaking lane and a Meganne behind it.
I glanced again to see the Meganne driver shoot into the lane I was on and thought to myself, " This clown is going to rear end me if he doesn't hit the brakes fairly lively. I was going to floor it to get out of his way but was glad I didn't.

I was lucky he didn't clip my front passenger wing.

Terrible - ring the Garda TrafficWatch line and give them the video footage.

I would report that driver immediately. That's down right idiotic and dangerous driving...

If you use that slow motion option in YouTube the windscreen is clearly (and rather suspiciously) shattered. Obviously there are any number of explanations but given that his vision is somewhat compromised you'd think he would drive with additional attention and care which makes it all the worse.

not too bad as they just stepped off the path but still and all....

So this happened to me yesterday.

Not sure how it comes across just watching it on video but it was pretty terrifying at the time. My visibility went to absolute zero. I didn't know if the car had kept going ahead of me or if it had broken down and I was about to smack into it. This was coming onto the m50 so I was already up to 80 or 90k by the time it happened. I slowed down a bit but was afraid to break sharply as there were cars behind me.

I reported it to the Traffic report line when I got to work and about ten minutes after I called, I got a ring back from the garda station. They had contacted the driver who undertook to get the car fixed. So that's good I guess.
