Wesley Sneijder says hello at 1/12 to us on more than one occasion.

When the bookies odds all simultaneously drop out to 1/25 or lower then it might be a sign that something is imminent and even then I'd be very suspicious.

ah yea and then you have the Asian betting firms putting 80-100k on, for example, vidal to join united knowing that he wont be leaving then word spreads in the bookies that a big bet has gone on, the Asian betting firms then wait until the odds go really low and the odds on him to stay at Juve drift, now 7/4 I think and they go and put 300k on him to stay at juve. Happened loads of times. easy money for them

Does anyone know what day Ed will be back in Manchester? I imagine there won't be any signings until he comes back.

Today I imagine (or maybe he is in London). He travelled back from America yesterday

Klopp........ "Mats joining Manchester United? For €20 million (£16m)? For such little money you can forget that immediately!"

so is that saying if they offer more he is for sale?

Dortmund have said that he isn't going anywhere. Barcelona are interested too and it's hard to know if he isn't going anywhere or they are saying that to try drum up the price (like teams before). Apparently some see Ginter has his future replacement and they recently signed him.

It's hard to know whats going on as every team says they don't want to sell their best players. Can't determine if he will or will not go until Hummels speaks on the matter in my eyes. Even if he does want a move he might favour the move to Barca.

I think Blind , De Vrij, or Vermalean seem more likely atm.

It would seem to suggest that Hummels wants the move, and United might be low balling because of that. And obviously Klopp is going to demand that Dortmund get a king's ransom for him.

Or it could be that he's not for sale and is happy to remain where he is.

seeing Luiz go for 50m he'd prob want 725mill for him

Bild reporting that Klopp, Hummels and Hummels' dad have agreed he isn't going anywhere this summer.

Really can't see that one happening. Would be interersted to see what Mitten says on it next (if anything) as Hummels was one he said United were fairly confident on.

We should chuck a load of money at him? He'd be the centrepiece of our defence for the foreseeable future

right, so on the one hand the bookies don't often get it wrong on transfers but on the other they're regularly manipulated?

Louis van Gaal’s first major move since becoming Manchester United manager takes place on Tuesday morning when the training pitches at the club’s Carrington base are ripped up to be replaced by Desso, a synthetic-grass hybrid material.

I suppose under Moyes we didn't really need a pristine surface for passing on.The tactic of ball out to Carrick, back to the CB and long diagonal meant large parts of the pitch went unused.

Seems like real Madrid bought Rodriguez for £71 million, not sure if its official but a lot reporting it

The manager of the prospective selling club actually acknowledging the link to United can only be a good thing.

Thought that was in €, read that it's around £63,000,000.

Still a huge amount of money on a player that really ain't much more than a bit of a punt IMO.

average age of our squad currently now at 25.7 years, is probably been a while since we had a squad that young and that only includes 23 players - if you add in the likes of Keane, jesse, amos, johnstone, wilson, lawrence, henriquez and powell it drops to 24.3 years.

Carrick is now the oldest player, with RVP next. the average age of the end of season squad was 27.

wonder how does that compare to previous years and other teams?

all I will say is the bookies have him 1/12 on to join united, they don't often get it wrong

He was odds on to stay at Juventus last week but the bookies removed the Juventus option probably to attract more mug punters.

A market for " club after summer" which doesn't include the current club is deeply flawed

and then go to the likes of Everton and Southampton and just throw money at them for players who are worth 30-40% less than we paid for them.

theres no balance in our transfer approach at the moment, and that needs to change, it should do with LVG now on board.

Madrid are a ridicilous, Another new toy this summer, Crazy to think the quality players that's going to be sold or on the bench, For what it's worth id have Di Maria over James anyday.

It's €81,000,000 so that would be about £63,000,000 alright.

Madrid are a joke. It's becoming easier to name the players who haven't played for them. With their turnover of players they're relying on luck to have a team that can function as a cohesive unit, but it's been like that for a long time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,333 ✭✭✭jonnyfingers

I think money has very little meaning in today's transfer market. Anything up to £80 million seems to be fair game and £20-£30 for an average player doesn't seem to be too far fetched.

As such I wish to see Ed driving to Juventus and Dortmund with a few dump-trucks full of cash and coming back with Vidal and Hummels.

Lump on Madrid to do a double/treble next season. Kroos and James are ridiculous signings for a team already blistering hot.
