The timing of Conte leaving was strange

Vidal and Pogba are meant to be back training on Monday so things will develop for better or worse next week. It seems like Vidal wants to move but isn't too bothered if it doesn't come off, at least that's the way it's coming off in interviews but I suppose he has to do that just in case a move falls through

€60 million could get us two midfielders we really need.
Let's hope we aren't really in for Rodriguez.

Whilst I agree that CM should be top priority and have been complaining about the ignoring of it for 5/6 years....

.....I wouldn't care if we went and blew the load on Rodriguez, I think he'd provide Ronaldo levels of excitement and pleasure if he were to be playing week in week out for us :o

Doesn't he play in the number 10 role?

Me either as long as it didn't prevent us getting the CM and CB we desperately need.

It's highly unlikely but it would be laying down a huge marker, buying a guy like that from under the nose of Madrid.

    Yes plus on either wing.

    James or Young...such a hard decision :P

Whilst we may indeed have other problem areas I wholeheartedly agree with this...

He would have a stage at OT to achieve Ronnie like levels... If there is an opportunity to get him, we must take it..

Shirt sales + league/cup runs + sell on price would make him a viable target IMO, that's putting aside the fact that he would instantly give other teams something very real to worry about on the pitch....

If it's 433 we will be playing I would be up for replacing Rooney with James

Fergie's situation bares no comparison to what Conte was talking about

Fergie was allowed to go after big money talent and pay players huge wages, all in an effort to try and win the CL...........

No. United had a strict wage structure back then. And he often turned to youth to progress. Big money talent wasn't brought in that often.
There's a lot of similarities between the two situations.
Unless of course conte is having his best players sold out from under him.
    Which is my point.

As good as Rodriguez is I'm happy we didnt get him. I know he can play winger too but isn't he more comfortable at no10? And we don't need another at this stage ha. I would like if we brought in a centre back, back up right back and another centre mid.

I hope Zaha is given the chance down the wing this year. He's an out and out winger and I think ability wise he is at the same level as the rest of the options.

Zaha has no hope, he has issues that would be in conflict with LVG. Louis will not stand for players with a personality issue, he wants harmony.

    Keane, Cole, Stam, Yorke, etc.

Whenever Ferguson identified a player he needed to win a tournament, he was allowed to go and pay record breaking fees to get them and pay them big wages.

Antonio Conte feels he can't do this and thus feels they are stagnating, hence why you can't compare the two situations.

But keep ignoring what I say and believe whatever you want about the man, it's no skin off my back.

Keane and cole were big signings. Wouldn't say the same for Stam. Yorke wasn't exactly a massive signing. The rest of that team was either youth promotes or bought for peanuts.

    I can compare if I like. :)

What issues has Zaha had personality wise? I don't know much about his personality or life off the pitch and the only thing I remember hearing is some silly rumour that he slept with Moyes daughter which seemed like nonsense.

If he does have personality issue hopefully he doesn't turn into a player like David Bentley, just a waste of talent.

I imagine if there are any players with personality issues VG would be the man to quickly correct them.

Giggs made a comment about him being very immature. Moyes obviously didn't rate him. And then there was rumour about him at Cardiff, that wasn't exactly focused on the job

Wonder will Woodward leave America on 'transfer business' next week then?

I'd say how he acts during the summer will have a huge say on his future so. If Giggs thinks he's immature no doubt he's told VG. I imagine VG will be keeping a close eye on him so.

True. But I thought he looked very are whenever I saw him play. Obvious natural ability, but maybe lacking the right mentality - which is often te key factor in making it at a top club.

True some players just squander there talent by acting like children and not taking it seriously enough. Sad to see someone wasting a chance most people would give anything to get.

United close to signing Milan midfielder De Jong for £8m after Carrick injury.

If this is true it'd make a nice change to have a DM who actually tackles people.

This is like chasing Kate Upton, but settling for Fiz from Corrie instead.

But would make me very worried that it's our CM business done for the Summer.

Nah, De Jong wouldn't mean we're not signing another cm.

de Jong would signify an improvement in our midfield options - for that reason I'd welcome it.
That is not to say, however, that I'd be happy if that was to be the extent of our signings. I still have a candle lit for Vidal... :)

Serious meh signing for me if true, if we're going to fix the midfield we should do if properly

If it's De Jong and another good midfielder I'll be happy
