Here is a good one from the Express.

United to spend £110 million on buying James Rodriguez and Marco Reus.

    :pac:

Conte leaving means that a manager-less Juventus are unlikely to want to sell any star players before a new manager comes in. If a new manager comes in, he is very unlikely to sanction a sale of their best player as his first act. I think the whole situation is media bulls*t. There is no way we are signing Vidal.

It's not. Conte has actually resigned. :pac:

Juve have usually been a team who are comfortable conducting transfers without too much input from the manager.

Or it could be a case of Conte walking because they have to sell Vidal or Pogba...

Hence, either player could be gone before a new manager is appointed or they will take on a new manager with this information presented to him before he signs....

Put bluntly, the new manager might not have a say

Ex-Juventus director Luciano Moggi is confident they can do without Antonio Conte. “Coaches come and go.”

The Bianconeri caused shockwaves this evening when Conte announced he had terminated his contract by mutual consent.

“This news did surprise me. I tried ringing him, but he didn’t answer the phone,” Moggi told Tuttomercatoweb.

“I don’t know what happened. I am sure he didn’t do it because of another offer. I think he’d always choose Juve first, so it must be painful for him to take this step.”

The fact Conte made this announcement on the second day of pre-season training raised many questions, including a possible protest at Arturo Vidal’s potential sale to Manchester United.

“It could be, but with an offer worth €50m you need to take it and find replacements,” continued Moggi.

“A club has to look at the balance sheet, as nowadays we see bankrupt clubs all the time and budgets must go hand in hand with sporting requirements.

“How will Juve do without Conte? The King is dead, long live the King. Coaches come and go.”

Conte is now the hot favourite to take over the Italy job, but Moggi insisted he’d “rule that out.”

I hope that is right, but it's complete and utter speculation.

Milan apparently interested in Nani. Could actually see that one happening.

    AC or Inter??

    If AC....

They may go for Nani if they fail to land Iturbe, they have been heavily linked with him, but I don't think they will get him...

Nani to AC would very much depend on the Iturbe transfer within the next week or so

Signed a permanent deal a few weeks ago, after being on loan there last season.

That's Wednesday now, let the reign of The Iron Tulip commence. May it be a strong, prosperous and unforgiving one.

Those quotes from Moggi have sent my excitement levels into overload. I may just explode Randy Marsh style in the next day or so.

In all seriousness though, he'd have his finger on the pulse at Juventus and would know what is coming down the line. That's the biggest indicator yet that a deal could be in the pipeline. Even journalists like Kevin Palmer who said a day or so ago that there was nothing happening with Vidal has begun turning his ship around with stuff like "reports in Italy suggest Conte quite Juventus because of Vidal deal". I imagine more will follow suit.

I'll believe it when I see Vidal lifting the premier league trophy in a United shirt

    Update on this....

Seems as though AC have missed out on Iturbe, seems as though he is Roma bound....

So AC may well be in for Nani in the coming days, fingers crossed ;)

Italian journalist/commentator/pundit Alfredo Pedulla says we're going to bid €50 million and that the club are offering €7 million a year plus add ons

He's supposed to be reliable enough

Milan is a bit of a circus atm is it? Could be a great signing for them at the same time and for Nani if he get's himself sorted and attitude right, Such a shame with Nani as we know fully well what he's capable off but can't see much left here for him, Could work out good with Van Gaal and Nani if he fancy's the challenge but then we'd probaley find ourselves back here next year saying the same things we've been saying the past few seasons.

Conti resigns from Juve possibly to take the Italian post.

Looking forward to any developments today. I would be shocked if the clubs has not sold/ loaned out a number of players within a week.

if Arsenal get Debuchy and Khedira, along with Sanchez thats a serious statement from them already this summer and widens the gap from us to them in terms of playing quality - really does emphasize the task ahead of us. even more concerning is that they are able to get these 3 players for around the same price that we paid for two relatively unproven players .

Chelsea are already stronger with 2 world class signings (tho Costa could easily go the way of Torres & Shev) and again paid about the same as we did for Shaw and Herrera.

we are very much playing catch up at the moment, need a big statement in the transfer market in the next few weeks or we wont be getting near the top 3.
