    Interesting interview from 1995, published on 18 Dec 2012

    The programme, part of a controversial series of probing interviews, was made by Open Media for Channel 4 in 1995 and produced by Steve Warr.

    Andrew Neil interviews Jimmy Savile on "Is This Your Life?"

    He quizzes him about his liking for young girls, clearly discomforting the DJ, as well as asking him about his reputation for meanness and exploring his strange relationship with his mother.

    Certainly worth watching. My opinion of Andrew Neil has improved somewhat bacause that must have been quite a tricky interview.

    Neil is a former editor of the Sunday Times. Makes me wonder if they had the low-down on Savile but couldn't publish for fear of libel threats.

    Granted it's a tabloid but the Star on Sunday tomorrow will carry a story that Savile linked to 5 deaths.

    He was interviewed by police in relation to the Yorkshire Ripper murders. Peter Sutcliffe was eventually charged and convicted in relation to these crimes.

    Internet conspiracy theorists have linked him to the "Bible John" cases:

    Of course the newspapers knew, probably not the full extent but it was well known in media circles that he was a paedophile and a necrophiliac.

    I am no great fan of RTE but at least they have never knowingly protected a paedo within their ranks, unlike the Beeb and the Catholic Church.

    Er no, sorry, wrong. Icke uses the scattergun approach (if you throw enough mud, you'll get it right now and again) and very few of the names he put in his books actually turned out to be paedos.

    Chris Morris is a satirist who took the piss out of what he saw as media and public hysteria regarding paedophilia.

    John Lydon is the only one where you have a point, he outed Savile, not aware of him outing anyone else though?

    In Chris morris's segment on saville he specifically mentioned hospitals and carehomes.
