Tried using this in metro bar in Tallaght, the bloke behind the counter didn't even look at the app, turned me down and said they weren't participating in the promotion.. it shouldn't be up on the map as a location then!

Its really annoying I've tried quite a few pubs around Dublin but they always have an excuse not to accept the app. One bar man told me the boss wont let him use the app because he couldn't be arsed doing the paper work to redeem is pint back from Guinness. I think Guinness should send a undercover patron into to each pub that supposedly participating and if they don't get a free pint they should take the facility away from them. There's nothing worse than sitting in your local and getting a message from the app entitling you to a free pint looking at a poster on the wall advertising the app and the barman refusing to give you a pint.

Disaster of an app, most pubs have no idea about it, some just say there are not participating even though they have the sign, few times the app wasn't working correctly and couldn't sign into pub. Going to delete because it's a pain the arse,

I had the app. and got a pint free here and there with it.

Trouble was that it was constantly messaging me, and used a lot of battery power too. I've deleted the app. now.

I am on android. My phone can never check into the pub to find my location. Any of my friends with android this app never works.

Whereas anyone I know with an iphone it works perfectly.

I’m guessing anyone else here experiencing issues with the app are on droids

Auburn Lodge Hotel, Ennis, Co. Clare doesn't accept the app either even tho they're on the list of participating venues too. That's probably the most annoying thing about the app is the fact that most of the places listed don't even accept it.

I have the App from the beginning and I can't fault it. It's a great app I got 3 pints on Sunday with the free pint giveaway.

Can you explain, Heisenberg, what the free pint thing was about? I thought that you were only permitted one pint per day, thanks to "reponsible drinking". Yeah, I know. Three pints is just SO excessive. :rolleyes:

Also, if anyone is being refused the service in pubs where the offer IS participating within the app, report them to Diageo.
It's the only way to fix it, and the pub are already receiving a gratuity aside from the cost of the pints redeemed.

My iPhone wife's iPhone and my iPod touch = 3 pints. I'm going to put it on the iPad for the next free giveaway which will yield 4 pints.

I deleted it before when it crashed and upon reinstallation couldn't remember d.o.b I had entered, so It's not operating now, will have to contact customer service about it.
