I was chubby. I'm now less chubby. But not ripped. The name is pretty pointless and more a little semi-amusing motivator for myself which relates to my goal.

    Why do you ask? :)

I was gonna ask how you done it lol :)

I reduced my calories. That's pretty much it!

I won't take up space here, but I go into detail on what my plan is here http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057212674

Thank you! Good job - sounds like you have a great regime in place. I've heard spinning is great, but I've always been too much of a wimp to try it!

I lost weight last yr and then I stopped the gym etc and put back in weight so over the past week I started to eat right and train. Ive lost 7lbs in the week and I know that's water muscle and a little fat but im just wondering did you have to tweak your workout as you lost bf % ?

Honestly, I did, as I found I had slightly less energy. But I found condensing my workout has actually helped in the long run. As I run a lot I found that my restrictions on carb intake had a negative impact in my performance. I upped my carbs and calories when I felt I needed a boost and I found everything was helped by doing so.

Personally, all I tracked is calories. I allowed those calories to come from anywhere, whole making sure to keep protein up. It worked for me and helped me get the lowest body fat I have ever had.

By far the easiest way, a pity more people wouldn't do it or believe it's that easy!

Lads, just a small thing here regarding water...........

I've gotten into the habit of drinking a lot of water. I'll drink 2L of water before lunch at work. I'll then have 500ml at lunch and probably another 1 - 1.5L after lunch before I go home. On training days I might have another 2 - 3L in the eveining, Is this too much?

I mean, even on days i've drank, say, 3.5L in work, when I get to training i'm still rather thirsty and aware of the fact that I have to keep hydrated because i'm going to sweat a lot (I do BJJ and it's alwys ridiculously hot).

Isn't constant thirst a sign of diabetes? Maybe you should get that checked out especially considering how much water you're knocking back and still feeling thirsty.

When you drink water more you excrete more water and your body adjusts to the increased amounts of water it recieves. Just slowly wean your self off it a bit. People tend to assume that because being dehydrated is bad drinking loads of water is good. Just remember that being dehydrated is bad, staying hydrated is good but anything over that is overkill with potential negatives.

And here I thought I drank a lot of water
    Do you have enough salt?
Excessive thirst is a sign of diabetes not that you necessarily have it or anything but no harm getting checked out

    Cheers for the replies

I'm not constantly thirsty per se. I'll walk to work in the morning and be thirsty. After that I could take it or leave it with regards to water but I drink it because I want to stay hydrated.

The thirst before training would be from cycling there etc (I think).

The only times i'll feel actually thirsty would be in the morning (after a one hour walk) and right before training.

Not sure how much salt I should have in a day but I DO lightly salt my food when i'm having dinner because i'm aware of the fact that i'm drinking a lot of water.
