Sure we all knew that was coming. I've already decided Chelsea are the winners of PL 2014/15 - its just the race to finish 2nd now.

    Bastids.

I hope the whole Costa and Fabregas thing goes worse for them than Ballack and Shevchenko.

    I don't see it, though.

Bit of a sickener if you are an Arsenal fan. Could never imagine him playing for anyone else in England.

I'm not convinced Mourinho actually wanted Fabregas to be honest but it's gone ahead anyway.

Ah, the GIF that reminds me that Hollywood came up with the Thumbs Up / Thumbs Down system, no-one actually knows what the thumb signal was back then...

They'll have some team next season!

Don't worry lads we will finish ahead of them again next season. ;)

So their back 4 is still set.
Matic, Fabregas and Ramires in midfield.
Hazard, Costa and Willian in attack.

With Oscar, Torres, Salah, Schurrle, Ba, Lukaku all in reserve.

I hope they sell Lukaku and put all their eggs in the Costa basket, and it doesn't work...

According to Twitter back in the day, they used to have a thumb war with the Emperor. Best out of three.

Now imagine if they had a manager who strives to play attacking football with those players at his disposal.

That's not to say Mourinho won't win nowt with his football, before the Mourinho fanboys come wading in!

Fabregas should be going into my FF team anyway

The scary thing is, with the money they got for Mata and De Bruyne, they have not actually spent a great deal...

I don't know anyone is surprised with Chelsea signing these players.

They cleared out huge wages earners this summer and got crazy money for Luiz.

They were and are going to be the big spenders in England this transfer window even out spending City.

You're forgetting the certifiably insane money they got for Luiz.

A non Liverpool related net spend discussion.

    Hmm.

Of course! I forgot that one. They were in credit in Jan, and over Jan and this summer so far, they are about even...

That is quite a mixed bag in retrospect.

    actually I'm calling it now..

If Chelsea win the league and Arsenal are in contention then Wenger will be gone this time next year.

This could be the final straw for many.

Show's how crazy the market has gone since then. Not one of those players would have been under 15m by today's standards and very few would have been under 20.

Arsenal would be a bigger danger if Wenger wasn't there imo.

Imagine them with a manager like Klopp..

For extra trollage, it looks like Fabregas will count as a home grown player for Chelsea next season :pac:

Given how much Chelsea stuttered last season and the fact that their strikers were rubbish, I think with these additions, I've mentally prepared myself for the fact that both they and City will finish ahead of us. Given that our rivals will be Arsenal/United, I think we should be grateful that Fabregas hasn't ended up with either of them.

Stall the digger there now Tommy, Matic/Ramires/Fabregas against Gerrard/Henderson/Lallana for example for pretty comparable really.

    Especially as we have Suarez

Fabregas to be sold to United in January for 70m, for not pressing or tracking back enough.

I laughed. Perhaps more than I should have, going by the judgmental stares I received in work.

Just being pedantic I suppose but I reckon it'll be Arsenal/Everton again as rivals with Spurs/Utd/Soton following up. The right appointment at Spurs or Soton is crucial and likewise the right buys for United, not that LVG seems too bothered. Probably too busy with World Cup.

Would have been a strange purchase for them.

They have Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere, Cazorla, Oxlade-Chamberlain all capable of playing that attacking midfield role that Fabregas is best at.

They need players in many other positions more than they need Fabregas

Injuries to the above players (like a fair few seasons now) probably cost them a great crack at the title last season.

Cesc would have helped immensely imo.
