That would be an awful shame. I love Arcade Fire but come on, it's the Pixies!! Hoping for an hour and a half at least.

I would expect a 70-75 minute set from the Pixies.
That would give us 20-25 songs, I reckon.

They played 27 songs when they support chilis in 2004

I hope we get that much or more, I like Arcade Fire, but they are no Pixies

On record I agree but live there's no contest.

I do hope for a 90min Pixies set. AF should be about the 2hr mark, maybe 5/10mins over

I heard on TXFM that AF are playing a cover related to the city they are playing in at every gig! Wonder what they will play for Dublin haha

Thinking of picking up some tickets, only decided last night to go, first ever gig, any tips, helpful stuff, should we bring anything etc. starting to get excited been a big fan of AF for years and the Pixies I have gotten into in the last year or so.

Will prob be getting a direct bus up to Marlay Park so will be there around the 3-ish mark I would imagine. Tips for food, toilet, water, drinks, getting a spot? How does it all work?

I am thinking about getting tickets for this.

With the Dublin game on at 4 as well.

What time do people thinking the pixies and arcade fire will be on stage at?

    cheers.

    Why would you say that?

It'll be a sunny day just after most peoples payday in the middle of Glastonbury fever and after them getting a big push of free advertising on the BBC on the Friday. I reckon it will be close to sell out as long as it doesn't rain but considering most people thought they'd sell out the day they went on sale I'm sure most are surprised to see it still on sale at the moment.

    Why would you say that?

just that i know of a lot of people who bought tickets when it went on sale first and now wanna get rid of them as a lot of other gigs have come up since and they would prefer to go to some of them rather than this gig..

and they have tired to sell tickets on line but with no joy..

It's weird, especially seeing as the latest album went to number 1 here, they haven't played in a couple of years, it's the only Irish date, and The Pixies are also playing! I'd have wanted to see The Pixies and AF in Marley if they were playing 2 separate gigs,

If there's less of a draw here now and AF want to go back to playing The Olympia, I'm all for it! :)

I would've thought it was selling well tbh.
They've named no additional warm up bands, which normally happens when trying to generate more interest.

Having said that, i'm surprised that with one week to go, there's no word on the warm up acts.
I know Pixies and Arcade Fire on their own would be great, but still thought there'd be another few (kinda like the Phoenix park set up, which this has replaced).

quite a few ads around for it, so probably isn't near selling out at the moment.

Don't they buy the ads beforehand? I've heard ads for sold out gigs loads of times.
