You'd think Reina would want a gig wouldn't you? Just drop your price, I'm sure I could scrape by on say 40k a week.
Reina has 2 years left on a £100k a week deal, to just walk away from that would be ridiculous.

Are we that spiteful that we will let him rot in the reserves for the next 2 years while paying out £10M?

The likely scenario in my eyes will be that Napoli or someone will buy him for about £5M. They will pay £50k a week wages, and we will pay him the other £50k a week outstanding on his two year contract.

Same thing happened with Aquilani and Cole.

I'd prefer to pay him the 100,000 and have him as backup then that situation.

Paying players that aren't playing for you seems ludicrous to me, even if we have done it before.

So in reality, you are paying 50K a week for a reserve goalie? (Difference between paying half and paying all)

Not every player gets a pay-off to leave their club. Reina will have to be realistic and know that he can't continue to get that kind of packet if he moves to a smaller (in terms of ability to pay) team.

I wouldn't budge if I was Reina unless someone paid me the proper wages.

Define proper? He was getting paid TOP wages, simialr to an outfield player, was probably one of the best paid keepers in the world. He can't really expect a new club to match that equally...

Well, was Reina at Napoli like he was at his last year with us? Or ...you know. Really good?

Started poor, got better towards season's end, I believe. Didn't watch Seria A last season though, so am well open to correction.

22 today. If it wasnt for Scolari sticking with the tried and trusted I think he would be in the Brazilian squad. He should be imo. Oscar has been pretty poor since xmas.

Hopefully Brazil will crash out due to Oscar getting a red card and then we can all go "nah nah nah :p" at Scolari - that'll teach him :pac:

Mourinho was livid with Oscar, reckoned he was saving himself till the world cup. I think we will see a different Oscar in the next few weekss.

On a complete side note, somewhere in the region of every second time that I see Dickerty's name in this thread, the song, "No diggity", pops into my head only to replaced with the lyrics, "No dickerty".

    So... yeah.

What his contract says or close to it.

I know if my job wanted rid but nobody else would take me on I'd be happy to sit in the wings for a year.

These loans deals are a mess.

I reckon he'll end up going on loan again somewhere and we'll not get a penny for him

Well I am glad I inspire you!

It actually came from an English girl who insisted on pronouncing (and no prounching, which is NOT a word) my surname "Dockerty" instead of "Doherty", and then proceeded to change it to Dickerty for the craic! :D

Loan deals for Carroll, Borini, Assaidi worked out pretty well.

Well if they pay his full wages, that's £5M a year, which is about what we'd get for him, so...

    Prounching. Sounds exotic ;)

All the Brits seemingly do that with Doherty, actually. Well, according to the one and only Doherty I know anyway. Aside from yourself, of course.
