I washed the bike today, went for 3 hour spin on my own. 30 minutes before I got home it started lashing out of it, bike is now dirtier than it was this morning...fuming

It could look quite well with a stubby...but might be very loud.

Straight-through can on mine. And yes bang it down a gear and the headphones-wearing pedestrian just about to step out against the lights in front of you will stop and look around. If that doesn't work the air horns will :)

One time I had the back wheel out which needs the can to come off. For the laugh I started it with no can, it was hardly any louder...!

35mpg around town, 45-50 on a long run. The first generation ST/RS had less power but were easier on fuel, 60+mpg on long runs, and the tanks were a couple of litres larger as well. I usually get to the reserve light at 125-130 miles around town and it's 14-15 litres from full (on the sidestand) to the reserve light.

The sound waves exiting the pipe unimpeded should add a little thrust and save fuel :)

It's savage for closed-throttle backfires as well.

Spent two hours sanding my rear wheel with fine grade sand paper removing the corrosion. Looking ten times better and I've a bit to go yet :)

Finally got round to taxing the bike. She's all legit and ready to go now. Dropped her out to Mutts Nuts in Leixlip to get a bit of carb/fuelling work done. Finally nearly there... :D

Started on the exhaust. Settled on 4 inches off. Had to wear sunglasses cutting the titanium outer. Sparks are so bright.

Just have to tap new holes and make a new hanger.

    More work than I thought

Got a PR4 fitted to the front, will get the summer or most of it from the back which is a PR3. Then will stick a PR4 on the back too.

Got it all back together. A couple of weeks ago it was a completely stripped bike with a semi stripped engine. It all worked out in the end!!

The handling is sublime due to new swingarm and linkage bearings as well as new fork seals and oil and headstock bearings.

Got this in the post this morning, a Rocket Roadster dual gel seat, loads of grip and quite comfy (i'm led to believe), its sitting under my desk in work, can't wait to get home to fit it !! :D

Barely a month on and only 800 kilometers on the seat and its being replaced yet again !! Myself and the missus (her especially) were in some awful pain after using this new gel seat.

Ended up ordering a very nice looking touring seat from Triumph for the Rocket. Even though normally I'm completely opposed to them. Saw a lot of them on HD's in Killarney and have to admit I was a tad jealous !! :o

What?? How much did you pay for it?? Is it worse that the original??

Paid €190 for the gel seat in the pic. Dont get me started about the original seat. It looks like an after thought and is awful for pillions. To be honest out the whole bike its the only down side.

Thankfully the new touring seat is only €140 including postage. I'll have to sell the others on ebay to cover the costs.

Changed the fork oil, brake fluid, clutch fluid, engine oil and filter.
Bike feels exactly the same. As of course it should.

Fitted a pair of shortee levers today, piece of piss to swap over.
Next mod will be to fit a Hel brake line kit and new fluid.

Saw them on an SV parked beside me, I like the look. Where did you get them?

Got them on eBay from 'the2wheels'. Little over 2 week delivery from china, can't go wrong for €27 and free postage.

Not bad. One of the tips a bike thief said was to take your clutch lever with you when you leave your bike!

scrubbed in the new PR4 front tyre , still a bit of life left in the PR2 at the rear. Had a bt029 at the front and was slipping and sliding all over the place specially at the roundabouts, the pr4 is unreal. Not a single slip all day long savage tyre, can't wait to get the rear fitted.
