Doesn't sound to me like he is unhappy at Liverpool according to this interview....

Sure we will know come the end of transfer season...

    Very good interview.

Suso agent confirms they are in talks with Porto for a permanent move.

    That makes me very sad.

It's no coincidence it's Porto who have a habit of signing players like Suso and turning them into superstars and selling on for mega profit.

Would be a mistake imo but I think he only has a year left so we looked goosed on this one..boooooo.

Unless we insist on a buyback clause

A pity, sounds like he out of contract. If so that's a boo boo, need sell on/buy back clauses.

If he is happy to leave now, why would he want to come back? It's all well and good putting clauses like that in but the players doesn't have to agree to coming back.

No but we get first option at a reduced price, plus as mike said..stick in some sell on agreement too.

I know we'd get first option but that also means he has first opportunity to tell us to take a jump. A sell on clause, I am in full agreement with. I can see him at Barcelona within 5 years.

Suso agent is also quoted as saying there is an offer of an extension by us, but he is reluctant to sign with the amount of limited playing time he will get.

Fingers crossed it's just his agent looking for some commitments first cause Suso going will most definitely come back and bite us imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,872 ✭✭✭Dickerty

But with a year back, and we won't promise him a lot of starts, no reason for him to sign a new deal.
I don't think he'll progress sufficiently that we'll bring him back. Solid enough, but lacks the pure pace, killer passing or long shot to be a huge threat in that position, Coutinho and Sterling already far more effective...

I could actually see him getting a lot of game time with us next season, players with his ability to see a pass will be crucial in breaking down the teams who will arrive at Anfield and park the bus.

I see Mandzukic has officially said he wants to leave Bayern, cause Guardiola doesn't play to his style.
I wonder if United would go there, or could he de-facto trade places with Lewandowski at BD?

He didnt exactly light La Liga on fire lads, i wouldnt be concerned at all that he leaves, we have better players in his position and will hopefully be signing more of a better standard.

I think he did quite well actually. He is still only a kid and it was his first full senior football season. He was also playing in a side battling relegation.

I will be disappointed if we lose him but realistically I cant see him getting much game time for the next 2-3 seasons so I understand why he would want to move.

He did better for Almeria last season, but do you know how many assists he had in 2012/13 for us? Zero, in 14 apperarances.
And in the previous season in the reserves, he only had 3 in 17 starts.

There is a misinformed view, IMO, that Suso is a magician. Really, he's better than Pacheco, but considerably poorer than Coutinho (only 1 year older) and Sterling (1 year younger).

Teams parking the bus need a Plan B like Lambert, not another player trying to pick a miracle pass between 2 rows of 4...

Suarez, Messi, Ronaldo and Welbeck would struggle to perform well in that Almeria side.

    Let him go....he's no Jonjo.

Oh please. There is a lot more room to work within in La Liva. Great players stand out no matter what their level. Obviously, having better players around you helps, but you still play the same opponants over the season as every other player in your position...

Ah c'mon, Welz is the best player eva. No bother to him.

Lopetegui is the new Porto manager, previously was the Spain U21 coach too and is known to rate Suso highly. So Porto's interest in Suso isn't too surprising. Hope we're sounding how much Danilo and Sandro are, latter if we miss out on Moreno somehow.

Hoddle thinks playing Sterling is a risk and can't be trusted after his sending off.
    Glen Hoddle
I really have to stop reading stuff that makes me angry!

I thought he was finished? I had high hopes for him but think it was two ACL injuries back to back which for a striker is bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,872 ✭✭✭Dickerty

Well I am glad he is fit enough to go out on loan. Another year in reserves would be no good for him, a loan is a good move.

He's such an idiot. Sterling got 3 bookings in 33 games last season. He's played central, on the wing and at RB, he's an excellent tackler and very calm these days. Valencia grabbed him by the throat and he didn't even react!

Ah, it's busy when something v good or v bad happens!

So if Moreno is coming, that's an excellent start. All we really need then is another attacking player/midfielder, and a CB if we are shipping one out. Also some rumours that Porto want Suso, I wouldn't be shocked it we let him go...

I'd be hopeful that a CB would be bought regardless of one being shipped on.

He didn't react because he knew it was an awful tackle. If the tackle had have landed another way Valencia would have been out of the WC.

Agree with the Hoddle being idiotic though he's just exaggerating.
