you should be fine, but you've tried everything possible to get it going? you have left it charging overnight, kept pressing power button while having phone in a bright light source etc?

Ya, did the lot, such as:
    • Charge overnight
    • Swap cables
    • Press and hold all buttons for 2 mins +
    • Press and hold power with light shining on sensor
    • Press and hold power & vol up while connecting to PC
    • etc.

Fingers crossed it comes back okay. I do have an upgrade available to me, but no new phones jump out at me right now, so would hate to have to use it on a phone I don't want...

Rooting won't affect warranty for manufacturers defect. Pros far outweigh cons.

If you've rooted your warrenty is done. You have to roll back to stock and hope it's not noticed in order to get any manufacturers work carried out.

Not true. I know several people who have had rooted s-offed devices repaired under warranty for purple tint in the camera.

Unless you speak from bad experience?

No I work closely with mobiles. Samsung and Apple are overtly forward in saying if you root your on your own. Regarding the purple tint, I'd imagine as it was a known issue, it wasn't worth the trouble...plus I believe HTC have the best customer care going

    Oh nice.

On a side note, a guy I know was declined warranty repair for his M8 recently, due to him being rooted. I'm not sure what the actual issue was, but it wasn't a clear cut manufacturers defect. In any case, he used elevate premium support and it was all sorted, so I guess being part of HTC elevate has it's uses.

    Hi,

Having issues charging my phone. When I plug in charger all seems fine as in charge light comes on & battery icon has charging symbol in it but it won't fully charge to 100%. If i try using the phone while charging the charge actually lessens and I sometimes I get a message saying something like the phone is using too much power.

Then there are times when I plug it in and it charges fine ???

I think the issue might be the chargers micro usb lead, so does anyone know if I can I just replace it with any micro usb lead or does it have to be a specific spec lead to ensure proper charging?

    Thanks,
    Doney84

Got my HTC One back. They were unable to fix the phone I sent off, so they sent me a replacement, which was nice.

The old one had dings and a few small scratches on the speakers, this one has none of that - meaning resale value has gone up :pac:

So the HTC One I got back seems to have an issue, people can't hear me when I make a call unless I switch to headphones, headset or loudspeaker. Is this a known issue? If so, does anyone know of a fix, or will I need to send this phone back too?

Known issue. And AFAIK the closest HTC service centre that will fix it is in the UK. You're looking at the best part of a 2 week turnaround. Speaking from experience.

Mine wasn't picking up mobile data and I could only get it to function in GSM mode, sent it back and got a replacement with the problem you have above. Sent that one back and a week later got another one, but that one kept randomly rebooting itself, so that's gone back too. Lord knows what I'll get back this week. I love the phone, I just wish everything would work properly!!

Mine was sent back via the VF shop I bought it in, wonder does that make a difference in terms of the replacement one you get.

Oh goodie. Annoyed here, I've owned 3 HTCs (desire, sensation and one). Didn't have any issues with the desire, sent back the sensation twice, and now will have to do the same with the one.

    HTC - sort it out!

Seems luck of the draw. Have owned 8 or 9 HTCs at this stage, only had to send back the Hero. That was back in the good old days, on T-Mobile in the UK. Courier came to collect my phone the next day, handed me over a replacement device on the spot.

    2 weeks is lucky.

I sent mine away for the purple camera issue and i've been waiting a month.

Who did you send it to?

I did a bit of research before sending mine away. I contacted HTC customer sevices directly, rather than my provider (Three), as on a previous occasion I was less than satisfied with the repair service provided by Three and their associates at Fonemenders.

HTC in the UK informed me that the only centres in Ireland that they use for repairs are Fonfix and SBE Ireland. I called both places and it turns out that for the issues I had (purple tint and main microphone failure), the handset has to go to SBE in the UK.

So, if I had sent it to Three, it would have gone: Three to Fonemenders to SBE Ireland to SBE UK and then back along the same route back to me, with potential delays at each point.

Same, if I sent it to Fonfix, they would have had to send it to SBE in Dublin before going to and from the UK (the people at Fonfix were kind enough to openly admit to this when I rang them about it).

So what I did was send it directly to SBE in Dublin. That cut out the provider and a service centre that would have simply done what I did myself and get it to SBE.

All told, I got it in the post on a Tuesday and it was delivered back by courier the following Monday week. So just under 2 weeks.

I had the same issue when I got my phone new. People could hear me but just barely. Got a replacement in the shop as it was <28 days old so try that if it's a new phone, otherwise cut out the middle man and contact SBE.

Defo cut out the middle man.
I'm over a month waiting now. Was on to them today and i was told that my phone got repaired, then checked again, and the issue wasnt fixed so its gone back! Nightmare!

Just as well I got that Moto G to tide me over, else I'd be going mad!

This is where ya gotta hand it to Apple. I had a mic issue on an iPhone 4 a few years ago, and they sent a courier to pick it up and deliver a replacement. Took 6 days in total, and that's including 4 days of a long weekend.

If I cut out middle man will I still be covered by warranty though? Also, I'm in Cork so it's a bit of a ballache to get the device sent to Dubland...

The warranty is covered by HTC. I spoke to them directly in the UK and it was them that told me to go to SBE or Fonfix. The network provider is just a middle man, and unless they agree to simply give you a replacement over the counter, you're better off leaving them out of it. The only way the work may not be covered by warranty (ie free) is if you damaged it yourself or if you use an unregistered service centre.

Cork is pretty much off the beaten track, but don't An Post go down there every couple of weeks for mail? ;-) I posted mine from Galway for about €6 by registered post.

Only benefit for VF is that they will give you a spare/replacement phone. It is the godawful Samsung Pocket Neo, but it's better than no spare phone.

I'd prefer not to be posting expensive phone if possible..

    Folks,

I rooted and installed Android revolution on my HTC one m7 for the past year but i've noticed lately that my reception is very bad. i'm currently on Android Rev 71.1 and everything is perfect functionality wise but my reception seems shocking particularly when changing from 2g to 3g/lte there's a drop in reception for ages before it switches over.

I'm with three but i am starting to think maybe i should flash the offical three one to see if it any better. or is this just symthom of three?

    Any advise appreciated

Ps has anyone noticed a little yellow patch on the screen when the phone gets hot? the last month or so when i'm using the phone a bit the screen at one part goes a little yellow (its only about half a centimeter wide)
