People here still discussing Aquilani 2 years after his departure.

Time to move on people or shall we discuss other shock transfers that I remember like Torben Piechnk, Paul Stewart and David Speedie!

So still lots of chatter on Moreno, I hope we don't try and low-ball this one. No loanees thrown in, that can be done later. Just get it done. He didn't make the Spain squad, so there should be no distractions...

We don't have infinite money trying to get the best deals for the players we want is just something we have to do. Unless you have the kind of pockets that Chelsea, city Psg etc have then you can't just straight up pay whatever the selling club is asking. The transfer market is full of people selling rolax watches, you gotta haggle with these guys!

Yeh, but sometimes, it's worth an extra little to make sure you get what you want, remove the 10% risk of them going elsewhere...

Aquilani was one of the worst signings ever imo. The man just had no interest in playing in England.

I wish real life was more like football manager, 2/3 bids in the space of 2 days, medical and personal terms agreed. Player is leaning. So simple :)

Rickie to get the first goal tonight if he starts? Fairytale end to a fairytale week?

Also when he scored on his debut hadn't his wife just given birth to their first kid a few days beforehand? He likes his 'feelgood' stories does our Rickie!

Ladbrokes enhancing him to 7/1, might throw a few quid on if he starts.

Demnach könnte es mit dem Wechsel von #Can nach #Liverpool jetzt sehr schnell gehen.
    — BILD B. Leverkusen (@BILD_Bayer04) June 4, 2014
    Anyone know what that means?

My German isn't great but I think it says 'Liverpool launch £30m bid for Carlton Cole'.

    Here's a bit more from Bild.de

    via a translation grinder.
England runners-up Liverpool now has made an offer for the Under-21 international Emre Can (20) to Bayer Leverkusen. IMAGE learned: The exchange stands in front of enforcement. The player should already be in agreement with the Reds, they say. Leverkusen would hold Can you. But the midfielder has a clause in the contract for overseas and can leave the factory self this summer for 12 million euros. For Leverkusen remain at the end of a fat transfer profits: Can came in 2013 for around 5.5 million euros from Bayern.

Mike65 - was there a tweet before that one?

The tweet basically means - 'therefore, the switch of Can to Liverpool could happen very quickly' so I'd assume there was something relevant before that tweet.

So looks like it'll be Lambert, Can, Moreno and Lallana/Shaqiri in. Then I think it'll depend on who we offload before we bring in anymore. I'd still be hoping we bring in a big marquee signing but I wouldn't count on it

    There was
Aktuell!!! Nach Informationen von @BILD_Bayer04 hat @LFC ein schriftliches Angebot für Emre #Can an #Bayer04 abgegeben.

Did I not read/hear Southampton are not letting anybody else go until the new manager is in place? i.e. Lovren and Lallana are hands off right now?

While one never knows, I've gone from about 80% certain of this transfer to 49.3453% sure it won't happen and that LFC will move on to securing Shaqiri.
