It read like something out of 'Private Eye' however there is a Council of that name (from Wiki...)

Council of Islamic Ideology is a constitutional body responsible for giving legal advice on Islamic issues to the Government of Pakistan and the Parliament.

The council has the following functions:
    1. To recommend laws conforming to Qur'an and Sunnah to the Parliament and Provincial Assemblies.
    2. To advise the Parliament, Government of Pakistan, President of Pakistan, or Governor on any question referred to the Council as to whether a proposed law is or is not repugnant to the Injunctions of Islam.
    3. To make recommendations to bring current laws into conformity with Islamic injunctions.
    4. To compile guidance for the Parliament and Provincial Assemblies.

If this turns out not to be an April Fool then it is truly scary and suddenly stops being funny.

Another bible story. Another disturbed parent. Another dead child.

Preacher denies responsibility, though he preached about how loving it is to threaten to murder your child.

"God never told me to stop" explained the mother.

JUPITER, Fla. - Right now police are investigating whether a bible verse drove a woman to allegedly kill her ex-partner's 2-year-old daughter and attempt to kill the girl's 10-year-old brother. The pastor at Metropolitan Community church stands with the heartbroken family, and she stands by that sermon talking about biblical sacrifice.

Pastor Dr. Lea Brown, "It's what I was called to do, there's no way anyone could have predicted this." A local pastor is nearly speechless Tuesday night as Kymberley Dawn Lucas, a member of her congregation, is spending her first night inside the Palm Beach county jail.

Lucas is accused of killing her ex-partner's 2-year-old daughter Elliana and attempting to kill the girl's brother 10-year-old Ethan. According to a newly released police report, inside the Jupiter home, police found a computer left on with a message for whoever found it.

The report does say that Lucas and Ethan were in church just 24 hours earlier listening to the sermon given by pastor Dr. Lea Brown. The report said, "Her sermon covered Genesis 22, in which God asks Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, but at the last minute God stops him from doing so."

Pastor Brown says the surviving members of this family are surrounded by love. She said, "I think right now they're doing their best to take one breath at a time, and put one foot in front of the other, that's all there is right now."

Don't know if anyone remembers Father Kevin Doran, the man who tried to block cancer drug trials, contributor to alive magazine, formerly on the board of the Mater.....left after he stated the hospital couldn't carry out abortions under the new legislation.

Due to his charm and sophistication, he's risen in the world....

"It sits atop the roof of an old palazzo in the centre of Rome, surrounded by a broad terrace that affords breathtaking views across the Eternal City to the mountains beyond.
The penthouse apartment at the centre of Paolo Sorrentino's Oscar-winning movie La Grande Bellezza? Or perhaps the chosen retreat of a Forbes-list billionaire?
No. The flat in question is being created in the Vatican for the man who until recently was its most senior official.
While Pope Francis has been exhorting his clergy almost weekly to live lives as simple and frugal as his own, work has been going ahead on a luxurious retirement home for Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone , who stepped down as the Vatican's secretary of state last October."

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jun/01/pope-furious-cardinal-luxury-flat-vatican

7,500 Square Foot of a flat.

"La Repubblica said the refurbishment involved merging two existing flats: one of between 300 and 400 sq metres previously assigned to the head of the Vatican gendarmerie, and another of around 200 sq metres belonging to a deceased prelate.
In addition, the cardinal would have the use of a terrace area covering a further 100 sq metres.
La Repubblica said that Bertone would share the apartment with three nuns who would take care of the domestic work."

Bit of a sad story this.

"An Indian man who made his name exposing the "miraculous" feats of holy men as tricks has fled the country after being accused of blasphemy. Now in self-imposed exile in Finland, he fears jail - or even assassination - if he returns.

When a Hindu fakir declared on live television that he could kill anybody with tantric chanting, Sanal Edamaruku simply had to take him up on the challenge.

As both were guests in the studio, the fakir was put to the test immediately.

The channel cancelled all subsequent programming and he began chanting on the spot. But as the hours passed a note of desperation crept into his raspy mantras. For his part, Edamaruku, president of the Indian Rationalist Association, showed no sign of discomfort, let alone death. He merely chortled his way through this unconventional (and unsuccessful) attempt on his life."

That though, isn't what led to his exile.....

JACKSON, Tenn. (KSDK) – Meet one woman who really, really wanted to get baby involved in her wedding.

So much so, in fact, that she allegedly tied one-month-old Aubrey to her wedding train and dragged her as she walked down the aisle.
Here's the full Facebook post from Carter-Brooks defending her decision:

"People questioning what we do, commenting all negative, and just doing the most. We good though we covered by the Blood which never loose its power. I love the way the BBC have become so lily-livered that they are reporting the real reason for the miracle as follows:
Moisture on the wall the statue was mounted on seemed to come from an overflowing drain, which was in turn fed by a pipe that issued from a nearby toilet.

Because if they had reported it properly they would have also disclosed that the water had the same impurities in it as would be expected of drainage water from a toilet, the exact same drain they say it "seems" to be coming from.

The guy was challenged to explain the miracle of the dripping statue.
He explained it, and now the Mumbai police are after him.
That is absolutely scandalous and ridiculous.

Should there be a "WTF?" thread? If so, that's where this article should go:

Large Genitals Get Underage Boy Put in Russian Prison for Theft

    http://www.themoscowtimes.com/article/501455.html
A 13-year-old boy detained on suspicion of theft has become the subject of a biological dispute after a Russian court judged him old enough to be held legally accountable for his actions on the basis of his teeth and large genitals, a newspaper report said. Tomas, a Hungarian national born in Ukraine, came to Moscow with his aunt in March and was arrested the same month after police accused him of stealing a mobile phone, a charge Tomas denies, newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets reported Tuesday.

Following a medical examination of his teeth and genitals, prison doctors concluded that the boy was between 16 to 17 years old, allowing the court to judge him as an adult and put him behind bars. However, Tomas' relatives say he was only 12 years old at the time of his arrest, a claim supported by his Ukrainian documentation, which was checked when he crossed the Russian border in March. The regional prison service has ordered a review of the boy's case, the report said.

According to Article 20 of the Criminal Code, the age of criminal responsibility in Russia is 16 — lowered to 14 years only for serious offenses such as murder or rape.
