So ive taken the plunge and have started using the myfitnesspal app.

It seems really good but im not sure how acurate the exercise section is?

Im 154kg and 6' 5''. According to the app 30 min on the elliptical burns 693 calories and 3 hours golfing pulling clubs burns 1987 calories. This surely cant be true is it?

I ignore the exercise section. it claims an hour of 5 a side burned 595 kcal and an hour weights session only burns 255

    I've always found it accurate.

Using the thread mill in the gym reports almost (about 50 over) the same calorie burn as my fitbit which feeds into runkeeper.

On the days I've forgotton my fitbit, runkeeper claimed about 75 less than the thread mill.

I've never considered it to be accurate so I don't use it.

If you use the scooby's workshop calculator which tells you what you need (BMR) and what you burn daily (based on your stats and your activity level).

Use that in conjunction with MFP then but I'd ignore the MFP exercise logging.
