    Come on you Arsenal!

Bastards equalising. At least it made the match more fun!

Forget Arsenal match. Athletico vs Barcellona was at great match and well done to Athletico for wining the LaLiga, and hopefully they win the champions league as well.

In fairness if you tell people that something false is true enough times, they'll start to believe it. This being ireland I could actually see a lot of people buying it and reciting to their non informed neighbours that it's as good as a 100k plus range rover. Heineken Budweiser, carlsburg etc all sell well and it ain't because they taste nice.

    Bleeding football. :p

I had some of the best sparring ever down at my MMA club today, just 3x3 minute rounds going 70% but not only did myself and the lad I was against really enjoy it but our coach and the rest of the lads there were loving it.
Said it was the best bit of MMA they've seen this year. :pac:
I take that with a pintch of salt.

It was going bad seeing the soccer here, then you mention MMA :)

I've picked up a few more bits for a car I don't even own yet today :)
Hopefully it all works out now!

So where do you all buy your engine oil?

    I've ordered this stuff.

    http://www.intrexcarparts.ie/car_accesories/engine_oils/motul_engine_oils/full_synthetic/p489

    They've a good choice.

Don't knock a main dealer for oil. Cheaper than Halfords and my local motor factors. Worth a call to a couple close.

When I had the focus I first used castrol then changed to Mobil and I think it was a great oil and made the engine feel smoother. I is often on sale in halfords for around 30 ish euro that was for 5w30 ford spec.
Now with the golf ill either get Mobil vw spec. Or I might try quantum out of the vw dealer. It's supposed to be good oil and a good price. I don't know much about it yet. Cars not due a service for 10k km so ill worry about it then.

I got 20 litres of quantum for 140 out of the main dealer. That was the 507 spec 5w30 stuff. Daycent price, it's made by bp who make castrol. Nothing blew up on me anyway.

I had an original c5 and I loved it.
Drove the new one (a 2l hdi with hydraulic suspension and all the goodies) and I didn't like it, it was more small cockpit than large sitting room. Looks a lot better on the outside, but on the inside I didn't like it!
As for how good or bad, no idea. My old one was bulletproof!

That sounds very good. It's 5w30 the golf takes alright. I'll definitely be looking into it when I get it serviced. Unfortunately I won't be able to service it myself like I used to do with the focus as our new house has no space to do it. Only on street parking and the shed is only small wouldn't fit a car a major disappointment really. So I'll be heading to the mechanic. Although I know vw are giving 12 months breakdown assist with servicing so that's tempting. As the next service is only minor oil + filter I might just get them to do it we the first service anyway. Although for major services will probably just head to my mechanic as there is a fairly major jump in price.

Ahh no excuse! If there's room to park it there's room to service it :pac:.

Ah I suppose your right. I was just so used to having the shed to do everything car wise in. Now not having it takes a bit of getting used to. Infairness them 1.9tdi engines are handy enough to service. The 1.9 tdi octavia we had always seemed more straight forward to do compared to the focus.

I do all my work in my driveway as you probably seen, rain, hail or snow, literally :P

It can be a pain in the hole. Had half the engine apart up on the kerb before. The most annoying thing I found was on bigger jobs you couldn't leave tools lying about while you take a break incase someone would lift them. But for the likes of a service it's grand just bring in and out the 3 or 4 tools you need.

I found the filter housing can be a bit of a balls on them engines sometimes. Make sure you can get it off before you drain the oil! Your octavia ones were probably grand if you were doing them yourself but you never know what ape tightened it up it last time on the golf.

I actually like working outside the house. I don't even have a driveway or garden space for a car, but its really handy because I share a cul-de-sac with only a few houses so theres loads of room to mess about. I once had my Austin 1100 outside the house with no bonnet and the engine in pieces for two days, it was never touched during the night.

    No substitute for working outside.
That way the neighbors can see that the jeremy clarkson approach to mechanics, or hammering and shouting, actually works.

    How's the tyremarks :P

Used to live within a stones throw of the locals here in galway at a crossroads within the estate so couldn't turn my back for a minute. As for over night I wouldn't even have left it up on stands incase it'd be sitting on the ground in the morning! Otherwise it was grand unless it was really hot out or lying on your back in a stream of water :).

Quickie, but unsure on this one, think it can be done though.... not one of my finer moments

If X goes to renew their insurance for the year, can Y be added to the policy, but only for 3 months, so that after the 3 months, X will be the only person insured?

I've decided I'm going to DOE the van in the next week or two and sell it and also pretty sure on what car I'm going to get.

I'd gladly slum it in a dry, well lit garage with a lift given half the chance, luxurious and all as the driveway is:)

Early days! There a rare enough car so hopefully I can get one when the time comes. Only seen 3 come up for sale in the last 6 months.
