first thing that came into my mind was to make a run for the ladder on that truck! I don't know if I would be safer up there!

    I know, I know, it's not a dashcam, but...

That used to be my home city, been there on holiday this week. Shop owners set their cctv to record what's happening on pedestrian crossing nearby.

    Jump to 1m03s

And yet another, same day! Jump to 0m45s

I'll bet that in first video it's going to be pedestrian who is to blame for accident.
They will probably even sue him to pay for repairs to damage to the vehicle.

If the driver was a politician then nothing will happen to him and can sue pedestrian and claim. This is the law in that country, believe it or not.

Was the pedestrian definitely ok? He hadn't moved in a long time.

Looks like the car traveled around 20 feet from point of impact which the internet tells me is around 20mph, so around a 5% chance of death. Considering the age of the victim, you can probably half that.

Drove down onto to beach this ...to see this. (I'd pulled in to throw dog poops into the bin not for him btw :p) Also some cool planes in the to right at the very start:p

That was kinda my point, with exception that driver doesn't need to be politician at all.
    It could have been anybody.
Pedestrian stepped right in front of car driving at speed. This is prohibited, therefore it's pedestrians fault, and he might be sued to pay for damages to the vehicle.

The driver's 81 years old, drove above speed limit (AFAIR is 30 km/h over there, not sure though).

Car breaks red light by four seconds on Dundalk's largest, busiest junction.

Seen a fella cycle through sundrive last year with an umbrella up, fell flat on his face with a gust of wind - usually I'd help someone that fell and see if they are ok, but in that circumstance, the guy deserved it so I drove on. B@stard is lucky I didn't drive over him

    07 KE **** Lexus

    Newbridge Co.Kildare. I am driving at 50kpm .

    This joker
    Breaks the speed limit,
Overtakes on a solid white line,
    Overtakes on a pedestrian crossing,
    Outside a school,
And goes on the break the red light in the distance.

I think of a judge got hold of him, he would be taking the bus for a year at least.

    Probably for the best.

You should show that to the Gardai in Newbridge station. They've acted on dashcam video before.

Not saying its wrong to report, especially that last video, but is this getting a bit like a 'vigilante's with cameras' thread?

I wouldn't report such an incident even though several laws were broken as in that particular situation, the driver was lucky that no one was in "actual" danger.

If someone had to take evasive action because of his driving then it would have been a different story.

I am mistaken on the reg anyway. After a closer look
all I can make out after a frame by frame is 07 KE

Plus if i did report it, they would have to prove the identity of the driver .

I have to stick to the speed limit due to a tracker sending out a safety report of my driving style to my company every 30 seconds.

This cracks people up behind me as I have to hit the breaks before the posted road sign limit. Dangerous overtakes are a day to day thing . It seem very little of the driving public follow the speed limit as I always have a tail of cars behind me everywhere I go. But when they do stupid overtakes in built up areas where people live, I will post them on youtube from now on.

It's called avoiding wasting police time, if they were to follow up on every traffic single infringement they wouldn't have time to do anything else.

There's your problem (or predicament), an active speed enforcement system that turns you into a rolling road block. No wonder other drivers pass in unsuitable locations out of sheer frustration.

If you had the freedom to drive at an "appropriate speed" you wouldn't have these "incidents".

It's up to the Gardaí whether they want to follow up on a report of dangerous driving or not. It doesn't take all day to look at a 30 second video.

That's some fantastic victim blaming there.

I hope you are joking.
As the appropriate speed in a built up area is the posted speed limit .

No one has the freedom to exceed the limit. Not unless they are exempt from the law.
