its that one of those new pto covers (bare co) i see on the main shaft? are they a good job?

I had a bareco cover on the same shaft and had to take it off as it was whipping.

Pulled this lad about 2 hours ago. Had to laugh watching him trying to suck. He fell and never let go of the tit and stayed sucking away while he was sitting down, if only they were all as hardy!

Ha, I had to get a fresh supply today! Although, to be honest I only had one mild case up to know. Do you use the synulox applicator to get the tabs down them? Find it very handy.

Calves are a lot more lively today. Neighbour rang me earlier and was on about it being a great day, he was laughing at me when I said there was great healing in it! No harm to be seeing the back of the scours. Those downpours it had been making were awful severe on young calves. Yip have the gun too, saves getting the fingers chomped on!

Does this not have to be broken up and diluted in water? Throw me up a link to it, save a lot of hassle if it could be thrown down their gob.

I got mine free when I was getting tablets, most vets should have them.

Last to be calved indoors this year (with any hope!)
Very lucky this year, put three purebred LMs incalf to LM and got three heifers:)
    This morning-

Quiet cow is worth her weight in gold. Opened the shed door, pulled the calf and dragged it up to her.
Thankfully, only a bit stuck at the hips and not another section off ERE!

Fleshy looking calf. What's she like dried off and up on her feet? A smasher?

Bit dropped in the hocks as the cow was only on hay but she'll straighten out in a couple of days when the bones firm up.
Other than that, looks to be one to keep on. Good topline and cows temperament will allow her to be handled every day which is a big plus. That bull seems to drop very fleshy calves!

Is it all side exit over there? Remember looking at the cows from the IFJ visit, serious animals altogether!

My dad mowed while I was in England. Most of it was knocked yesterday and the rest around mid day today. Raking and pit tomorrow. ...... and I'm back just in time to cover the pit.

Too many havens in Cork, unless you're a water meter :-)
