That mazda driver tbh needs a good slap. A simple get out of the way was all that was needed. BMW driver was a bit stupid too but if it were me and the mazda wouldn't move I'd probably do the same.
The game the mazda starts to play is just pure idiotic.

A case of.... Pair of them in it! 8.30AM Monday morning... leave it out ffs!!

Get any reg numbers for that one? That is just shocking driving.

Tailgating is bad and dangerous however, deliberately obstructing another car just to make a point and then moving with that car to continue blocking is worse.

And the Mazda can't use the excuse he was moving with traffic when he moved into the inside lane, as the BMW was able to move in well before the Mazda.

It's that kind of behaviour that will lead to undertaking.

I didn't actually, it was too early on a Monday morning and I was still on weekend mode! Traffic came to a stop at Blanch and no one gained any distance, funny enough the woman in the BMW ended up behind me later and sat on my ar$e too. Driving like that in rush hour traffic is the definition of an exercise in futility. It is impossible to gain more than a few car lengths, I've often seen cars bulling through traffic on the N3 only to pull up beside them on the quays in city center.

Tailgating is bad, but the Mazda driver is a cnut of the highest order.
I'd still place the BMW driver higher in the cnutishness hierarchy. ;)

Mazda would be worse for me personally. BMW would tailgate me, I would move over and think "arsehole". That would be the end of that.
If someone where to deliberately hold me up and the block me like the Mazda driver did, I would tend to react very poorly and I cannot tell what the outcome would be in the end.
I have mellowed a lot and nowadays probably not a lot would happen, but had that been me 10-15 years ago, I would not have minded if the Mazda ended up on it's roof as long as I got past.
There would have been flashing lights, hand gestures and horns blaring.

Yeah. I would agree. The cam car must have been aware of the black Audi undertaker as he would have used his mirror before the lane change. He could have let him go before the lame slow attempt at an overtake.

I assure you that I did use my mirrors and that the Audi was a fair way away otherwise I wouldn't have moved out. Not exaggerating he must have been doing close to 100mph because he just appeared in my rear view mirror - it stunned me actually because I'm extremely thorough with mirrors and the Audi was nowhere near me when I looked, indicated and pulled out.

And I don't get why it was a 'lame slow attempt at an overtake' - would you be suggesting that I should break the speed limit to overtake?

Just saw a ****er videoing on his iPad while cycling.
I think he was videoing the cyclist in front or he was doing a piece to camera of himself I have no idea.
Got it on camera, but it was so far away all you see is pixels.

Here it is anyway, I was a bit stunned!
Theres enough distractions on the road without that bull****.

Like I say its too far away to be clear.

Although the BMW appeared to be most at fault at the beginning, the actions by the Mazda were rather dangerous too and did not help matters in such a volatile situation.

If I encounter a tailgater like that, I will pull over at the earliest convenience when it is safe to do so. However I do not tolerate bullying by tailgaters so if I am overtaking a line of cars, I will not accelerate past the speed limit just for his or her convenience. Furthermore, if I feel that they are driving too close (2 second rule) for the speed we are doing, I will release the throttle and let the car slow down naturally to a point at which point it he/she is a safe distance away for the given speed or if the left lane becomes free and I pull into it, whichever comes first. I won't hit the brakes or anything like that. Perhaps a flash of the hazard lights before the above action to let the driver aware of the hazard a couple of feet in front of him (me) that he appears to be oblivious to.

I will only do the above if there is no other traffic behind him/her as I don't want to create a brake light backlog or any accidents.

Accommodating tailgaters only leads them to do it more often and I will not be forced off the road, put myself in a dangerous situation (car behind me 2 metres away doing 120) or forced to speed up beyond the speed limit for these low life selfish dangerous stupid individuals.

And above all, remain calm :)

Another driver making a mess of joining the M50. I have severe dislike for some prat who gets the jump on you, pulls out early, then sits on you so you can't pull out. You know the craic? Anyhow, here's one, he/she put the motorcyclist in danger too.

you were bang on with your driving there, get out of the lane and let them scrap it out. You also didn't let your man out, gave him a minute to calm down too.. there'll be a few on her saying you blocked him on purpose but I think you done well!

This really irks me. If you are overtaking, particularly a line of cars, you should spend as little time in the overtaking lane as possible. In my opinion (and yes it's only my opinion) it's better to break the speed limit by 5 -10 kph briefly and get the maneuver done than to slow everything up in the overtaking lane. You are not being dangerous and a guard will not pull you up for speeding.

And to clarify, I don't tailgate in any situation.

My neighbour got pulled up for crossing the limit by about 5kmph doing an overtake manoeuvre on a quiet road with clear line of sight (bar the Garda behind the wall). You may well be right, and I would get it over and done with ASAP but it is still speeding and you would be foolish to think that a Garda would not do you for it.

I see nobody picked up on him saying he had cruise control set to 70mph, which is ~5mph under the speed limit :pac:

Fair enough, but the scenario we're talking about here is motorway driving and you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who's been done for travelling 5kph over the limit on a motorway.

Thanks guys, that's definitely what the problem is, I have set the resolution down to 720 as a workaround until I get a faster SD card (EDIT: have one on order ;)).

So the odds of having an "incident" during the "blink" is about 150/1 assuming that 4 seconds out of every 600 will not get recorded.

And this is the result! :(

Here is the results of setting the resolution down to 720, the join is almost invisible.

New SD card arrived today, no more 4 second gaps (hopefully).

I can just imagine him with the helmet cam on roaring at the coco pops for 10 minutes for turning the milk too chocolatey. You've brightened up my morning.

Truck struggles to park on Middle Abbey Street, innocent bike gets caught up in it!

Higher up he keeps catching the sign with the back of the truck. I reversed back as far as I could before he started pulling in. It is a loading bay until 7PM, this was after 7PM so fair game for parking in.

You'd fit a bus in that spot! Them signs can be a right pain though, they are usually out of view from the mirrors and given the amount of truckers with huge bellies, they probably can't crouch down low enough to see :pac:
