Details from the battery widget reads as follows

    APP USAGE:
    Android System - 87%
    Dialer - 3%
    Internet - 3%
    Messages - 2%
    HTC Sense - 1%

did you recently add media of any kind? music/videos etc?

sometimes indexing them can cause issues.

I had hassle with my battery. Once a month or so it'd be slow as hell for about 2 days. I'd need to restart at least 3 times in a row for it to be fixed.
Installed Gsam battery monitor. Found out it was some alarm clock app that was using up all my CPU. Removed it and havent had any issues since.

whats the cellular reception like in your area?

In my house it's not great but when I am out about usually around the suburbs of North Dublin it's usually ok.
    Actually another maybe related question
I am on 3. There I usually an 'R' beside the mobile signal which I take means Roaming.
But when I went into settings it was on full roaming /international roaming. When I tried to switch it to either Off or National I lost signal completely. Is this normal. Have come from Vodafone and Lumia so its a bit new.

So my camera is purple. I thought it was only recently but i looked back to some of the first photos i took with it, and they have purple in them too.

So apparnetly, the internet tells me its a hardware problem.
I have the phone about 8 months, from O2. Does anyone know how long the warranty lasts on these phones?

I've had a strange problem since I got the latest update (Now on 4.19.401.11) to improve something to do with the wi-fi, it seems now to be drifting in and out of wi-fi connection, despite showing full bars wi-fi connected... any ideas?

Did a reset and tbh its not a whole lot better.
I charged it fullly last night (not on the HTC charger though) and had it on battery saver from 6am till about 11am.
Listened to the radio via tuner or app from about 7 till 10.30 and just a few txts and the battery was down to 55% even though it was on battery saver.

you could set it to run in 2g only and see if that stops its trying to latch onto the higher power consuming bands... (3g if you have a 4g plan)

Yeah I have noticed that it varies wildly from E to 4g and anywhere in between.
Gonna try a battery recalibration and see how it is tommorow.

Took me about 2 weeks with my One x, generally depends on whether they have stock of whichever part needs replacing.

Cheers for the advice. I'm more worried about the photos I have on the thing tbh!! :p

Actually, is there any point in me doing a factory reset before sending it back to the factory? I was gonna just backup me photos and delete any incriminating ones, and then send it on.

has anyone any experience with returning a htc one m7? Im worried that if I send it back and they have to open it, which will require the screen to be removed, will the screen be put in the same as it left the factory? or does it just have new adhesive applied and stuck back on?

It's highly unlikely you will receive the same phone back. You will just be sent back a refurb. I know more than one person who has sent an M7 in for repair and they the one they get back is definitely not the same (judging by marks etc they knew were on their previous one).

will they only repair HTC Ones that had an already existing underlying hardware problem? or will they repair anything?

If the problem is from a manufacturing defect or hardware failure, it will be fixed under warranty. If it's something you did to the phone, you pay.

I sent my HTC one back for repair(issues with the battery) took about 2 and half weeks to get back but they replaced it with a new one :)

The M7's get repaired. The iPhone's are really the only phones with a refurb policy, though I can see Samsung leaning that way!

I always recommend that you do a factory reset...it removes all keylocks and stuff which can lead to a phone being returned unrepaired. Another benefit is, often problems are solved by a factory reset! It's the first step of the repair process so you may as well do it in case that's all that needs doing!

Anyone having WiFi issues on KitKat? I don't have WiFi at my house so rarely use it but anytime I try to connect to a friends WiFi or an open WiFi connection my phone connects then disconnects again in under a minute. Same thing happens if I use my phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot for my laptop, the hotspot just switches itself off after a few minutes.

    Android version 4.4.2
    Software version 4.20.980.1

Phone isn't rooted and bootloader is locked.

Contact HTC on their website...I had an issue with my One X where the Wifi kept dropping (known fault in some of them)

They picked it up via UPS and dropped it back a week later

Where'd you buy it? And when?

I bought mine off emobile. They sent it to fonfix who in turn sent it to sbe UK. Its taken 3 weeks so far though.

The first time I sent it away in august it was just replaced with a new handset by fonfix with a 4 day turn around.

I had speaker problems both times.
