I know this is a fairly open question, but what would be the general consensus for the current best Enigma2 image on this box? (i.e fastest and most stable)

Hyperion V4, OpenARP, HDMU, OpenPLI etc.?

I'm on Hyperion V3 at the moment and was looking to use one of the newer images.

I've used Hyperion 3,Hyperion 4,OpenARP and HDMU and found them all to be very good.

Hyperion 4 is slightly better than 3 ,it has less memory usage and a few slight improvements.
I like the blue panel on Hyperion images and the button keymap .Its easy to map buttons to ones liking.
It can also be updated via the blue button which is handy .
Only drawback would be the dull picture and jaggedy teletext writing.

I couldnt get the RTE Player to work properly on OpenARP and I thought the picture quality was a bit inferior on it but otherwise a very solid image .

I'm currently using HDMU and find it good, the audio levels on it are louder than every other E2 image and it has a good picture, closest to Spark.
It can rarely have tune failed issues when recording and pressing menu in cool epg can sometimes cause a crash but apart from that an excellent image. It has the best server for downloading plugins .

All of the images are excellent and stable, the only issues I have encountered have been with recordings rarely locking up but this is an issue across all images.

I can't seem to get watching one channel and recording another to work.I have the tuner B configuration set to "28.2e simple no diseqc" and tuner C set to "same as tuner B"

But I just get blank screen on second channel when one channel is recording

    Anyone have any ideas why

    Cheers

    Which image are you using?
Also, you should set your tuner B to advanced and to 28.2 with universal LNB

Go to emu settings (blue panel, emu manager), in there set cao1 to either enable or disable (the opposite of what you have now) and that will have you going. For hyperion image

It needs to be set to disabled.

Give this a try today. Box was stuck in Boot. Tried several times , trying both USB ports, with same issue. I found an earlier version of your image from March 2014 and it is working fine, however. :)

Are both satellite cable feeds connected properly at the back of the box?

I flashed this same image on two other boxes earlier, so that's a total of 5 boxes I've flashed it on without any difficulty. Connect your regular Usb drive to the rear Usb and at the same time flash this from Usb key from the front slot. I'll update the files in the morning

I think so nutzz.would one of the tuners be greyed out in the tuner configuration settings if one wasn't connected properly?

    No

I originally connected two cables, one UNDER the other. So of course, one worked and one didn't. But nowhere did it ever say that no signal was found on the LNB 2

Besides, you can setup a box nowhere near an aerial connection but then bring it, pre-configured to someone, and scan it at that point, for the relevant services for that location and wherever the dish may be pointing.

There's more than Sky in the Sky !!!

Yes you would, in that case scan the transponder manually
    11680 v 27500 2/3
    http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php

There was a good few changes, it might best run a full satellite scan with clear before scan enabled, this will not change any of your bouquets but will add a full set of channels to the a-z list, you can then press menu on a channel and add it to a bouquet

Why not use an image from here, you'd get better support as they're the images us on here use

i usually do then after a few weeks it starts freezing, and then i try another image just giving this one a go to see if it stops the freezing issue

Do u have multiquickbutton installed by any chance? That used to cause green screens for me. I then started using hyperion images that have a key mapper built in and doesn't crash.

Does Autotimer work properly for people ?
The reason I ask is that sometimes if I select Autotimer for a programme it seems to find nothing whilst for other programmes it does find them,it seems to be hit and miss .
I'm not a big user of Autotimer but it definitely seems to work better on my Dm800 although the settings on both seem identical.

Can be an art to it alright. I find you need to be both general and specific with it , if you know what I mean. keep the times reasonable (+5-10mins).
I have also found that for some timers it just ends up recording for the time stated, regardless of the programme content.
I must say, that I don't fully trust it, and manually set (or at least check ) that the recordings are set. The series link on Sky+ was one of the main features that was required to be replicated if the box was to be accepted by the household! And so there are a few timers that I check regularly just in case

ye still not into the enigma side yet? it is more stress and hassle if your new to it but well worth stickin with it thru the hard times at the start when ye feel like chuckin the box out the window, just wish it had as good a volume level as spark

how.gareth- have you tried an HDMU image. I think Zardoz had a back up done for download somewhere here. He said the volume on it was much better than other images
