You'd have to worry that Keith Barry was driving up and down to Cork on just 3 hours sleep. Unlikely to be safe - even for a mentalist

    I think this is either:

    a) A planned media storm which helps both Prendervile and Barry, or

    b) Red FM/Prends being unprofessional - if you don't ask for exclusivity, you have no right to be upset.

in light of opposing stories about what happened, I'm gonna have to err on the side of caution, and consider them both to be contemptible dicks

    Both mentalists.

Anyway, Keith Barry does come across as someone completely full of himself.

Your man Prendiville really does seem to be a thoroughly unpleasant character. Kind of medium sized fish in a tiny pond syndrome, mind he'll probably consider the fact that anyone's talking about him a success.

For some reason, I get the impression that you've never even heard his show once and are judging him based on what you've heard about him in the media. He's the top rating local radio host in the country but I agree with you that Ireland is a tiny pond.

Lawyer: Goes to credibility of the witness, your honour.

    Judge: Objection overruled.

Lawyer: So, Neil, can you tell us again why you were trying to recreate the movie snakes on a plane

The witnesses were all the staff members who were in the reception area at the time.

The "snakes on a plane joke" was not very funny either.

Cork is an even smaller pond.

    2 Questions:

Can you give any reference to anything your saying?

Are you Neil Prendiville or do you work for him?

It was redfm's headline news at 10am and a statement was read out by Neil before that. There is a very popular Cork based forum that are also discussing the news.

No I am not Neil and I do not work for Redfm.

No but numerous staff members did, people are letting their hatred of Neil get in the way of this story.

There is no story, it's bickering between a pantomime magician and a self admitted aero-onanist.

The fact that it's the headline news on a provincial radion station just shows how small time that station is.

I believe a clip of audio from Neil's statement is also in the link below.
Neil Prendeville has addressed an issue which emerged with magician and mentalist Keith Barry off air on Friday morning.

He began by telling his listening audience that his show was contacted by Keith Barry’s management a number of weeks ago to come on the show, Neil agreed and they discussed the format the interview would take on air.

Neil says at no stage was it mentioned that he would be doing the same format, on the same morning on 96FM and had he known that he would have urged Keith to pick one radio station on that morning and re-schedule the other for another day.

His PR firm was contacted and his appearance was cancelled.

On foot of that Keith arrived at the studios here at RedFM and demanded to be taken on air.

After leaving the studios Keith took to Twitter and Facebook and slated Neil’s actions and encouraged other artists to boycott his show.

So basically your saying this actually happened despite you not actually been there to witness it ,

    I call "Roswell"

You do know Neil gets bigger ratings than a lot of big name presenters on national radio.

But what makes you not believe it? I'm sure if it's all made up then Barry can take legal action.

I don't know what Roswell is meant to mean.

No, you just changed it to suit your opinion.

The underlined parts in the Red FM statement indicate why they need better researchers/producers.

If you never ask the question, "are you on any other shows in Cork", then you have zero right to complain (and cancel a slot at zero notice).

I should correct that, they have every right to say who goes on their show, but if they behave in such an unprofessional manner, they shouldn't be surprised that people get upset.

As I stated earlier in the thread yes I am.

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't but it doesn't change the fact that he's a man most famous for being at himself on a plane and working at a small time, provincial station.

I've sadly heard his show too much, due to people in work tuning in. He is DIRE, and the poster you quoted is right on the money. He is popular because he taps into the populist, lowest common denominator listener-ship.

He blows all other presenters on local radio out of the water. The only shows with a higher listener ship would the national broadcasters on RTE radio, the likes of John Duffy, etc.

He does. I don't know why you are harping on about it being "small time" and "provinical"
