I'm on US time so I recorded it and sat down to watch it around 10am. Once City got the second goal I couldn't handle the suspense and just googled the final result. :D

The strikers have had a relative dip in form over the last few games. Suarez seems to be beating a dead horse trying to nutmeg everyone and Sturridge's clinical accuracy seems to be missing. Lets hope they get it together in time for Chelski. Far too many horrible first touches around City's box giving it straight back to them, and from more than one player.

It'll be Lucas for Henderson from here on out. Henderson's improved a great deal but Lucas is probably a better contribution to the squad so no huge loss if any.

Looking at all the missed chances by Chelsea today, I really thought the title was just destined for Liverpool.

    Dam you Michael Vorm.
Bit harsh, took a horrible deflection, felt sorry for Vorm who did alright for both of Chelsea's other shots on target.

Good angle on the Suarez "dive" today on MOTD. Looks like he was caught after all. Just goes to show you how hard it is for the referee

Meh. You can be caught and still dive. It was a dive imo and as it turned out did him no favours. A peno for the koan foul would have been just what was needed but he played himself out of it.

You know Suarez is a very special player when he looked out of sorts today but still had the best assist iv'e seen this season for the first goal.

Keepers should be more willing to use their feet. A solid side of the boot and that was staying out. Trying to get down with his hand and he couldn't.

Yeah didnt say he didn't dive but just think it's funny all the stick he takes and it turned out he was actually caught after all.

I think hendersons loss is huge after suarez Id have him as our 2nd most important player. Gerrard has to play at the base of the diamond and I think Id prefer Allen over lucas in a slightly more advanced role both players arent as effective as henderson in that role.

    Absolutely, it's all relative. :)
He's dropped off on goal scoring form as of late but improved by creating chances to compensate.

i would start Sterling up front with Suarez next week if Sturridge is out
with Coutinho in behind in the diamond with Lucas & Allen either side

Probably should of stuck in a winky face, I have to blame someone.

I'll go with Phill Dowd so.

Allen has slotted back in quite nicely since he returned from injury. He will have to fill Hendo's boots and with the team playing as they are that shouldn't be a problem. It is a loss and a terrible shame for Hendo, one moment of madness and his season is basically over.

Whats injury update with Sturridge? Someone said he did his hammer?

Personally I would be putting Lucas straight back in there ahead of Allen although we did look better in the second half when Allen came on. Have heard nothing yet on Sturridge.

I think all that has been said so far is that his hamstring was a bit tight

Rodgers may need to tinker with the formation to compensate for Henderson, maybe 2 DM Lucas, Gerrard and dare I say it take Sturridge out and have an extra midfielder. Then bring him on as an impact sub for whoever's having a bad game around 70 mins.

Unfortunately Sturridge has been one of the few recently to be having a bad game. Not been on it, wonder if he is carrying a knock but playing through it.

When you see Kompany today playing through the pain barrier, showing a bit of warrior spirit, there was no way he was missing that game

Sturridge has been a revelation for us, but you do get the impression that only a slight knock on him physically can knock his performance entirely.

I do recall Rodgers saying something similar a while back, para phrasing now but something along the lines of Suarez being capable of world class performances when only 75% fit, Sturridge needs to be 100% at all times

Ye he might have to tinker with it no better man in fairness. Hendersons energy is vital to the way we play. Neither Allen or lucas are blessed with that attribute.

Even though he wasn't scoring though his runs and link up play etc will be missed.

If Sturridge is out of the Norwich game, would anyone welcome Aspas or Moses into the starting 11?

Looks like Moses is favoured by Rodgers for some reason, personally I don't think there's much between them.

    Wow!

MOTD have defined this day as the paradigm shift of LFC expecting to win the league instead of just believing... setting us up nicely there. Otherwise a good show tonight :D:D:D:D

God no, probably be sterling/cou/suarez up front and gerrard/allen/lucas in midfield

Hendo is out for the rest of the season, bar the last game
I dont think either Lucas or Allen are in the same class either

Reckon Rodgers prefers Moses due to the pure power difference between him and Moses. Hopefully Sturridge isn't too bad though although I reckon it may free Suarez up a bit more.

Allen should also do a decent Hendo impersonation but Hendo will be missed v Chelsea
