A tough game now next against the Hammers. We faced Big Sam's Blackburn in our last realistic chance at a PL title back in 2009. On the 11th of April we won 4 nil and I was at that game, it was a few days short of the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough and atmosphere was unbelievable and there was only going to be one winner that day.

City come to Anfield on the 13th of April, it will be two days prior to the 25th anniversary and I can only imagine what kind of noise City will face in the ground that day.

I really think the timing of these games gives the team a massive boost.

For sh1ts and giggles I went to see how much tickets would be for Newcastle at home.

Some sites have them either sold out or one site has the 2 for the cheap price of 4k.... :O

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,798 ✭✭✭✭DrumSteve

4k seems like a sound investment especially if we're going to play Newcastle for the title.

Still a lotta me money for a game of ball, mind.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,398 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

I know it's been a long hard season, and some people have put in phenomenal efforts, but this is where it counts....we need everyone to be on the look out for jinxes, and to step in and counter them wherever they may appear.

    WE ARE THE UNDERDOGS.

    That's what I thought too.

Ah well. First game back next season it is ;)

Jesus lads, calm down a bit. The title talk is a tad premature. Plenty of points to be played for yet.

We're in the driving seat with 6 games left, a lot of people, myself included, have never experienced this. I'm 30 years old, I have been through an awful lot of crap following this team since 1990/1 and I am going to enjoy it so much if Stevie does manage to lift that trophy in May.

Can't understand how some Liverpool fans are trying to 'play down' title chances. If City/Chelsea were in your position you's would all be saying they'd win it:P. League is in Pools hand as much as it pains me to say. But yous have been great to watch this season and that's with an awful back 4. Well done Rodgers.

Havent seen rodgers as please to win. He really was estaticat the final whisle.is he a believer ?? :))

I'd be happy with 4th place tbh, anything else is a bonus :)

There's a guy in work who knowing I'm a Liverpool fan, has asked me every Monday: 'So razorblunt, is it on yet?'. Walked past his desk today 'it's on Chris, it's focking on'.

    What a season.
    Two things I don't want:
    1. Someone putting in an Arshavin like performance
    2. Someone like Yossi giving away that freekick against Everton with 2 minutes to go

Calm down lads - 24 years of hurt tends to give one a sobering outlook (can't believe its been that long since nicol got fouled outside the box for the barnes peno that gave us the title against QPR)

    So much could happen yet.

3 points vs. West Ham is my only thought now.

Amen to that. Its very much on but a lot can happen and I expect a few surprises will be thrown up.

Easy on the gloating though yeah. One game at a time.

While the feel good factor is great the sheer unadulterated hate on rival club message boards makes the whole thing that little bit better!

Hansen made a good point on match of the day on Saturday when he noted that there are no 'bankers' at this stage of the season and little point in looking at fixture lists for easy / hard games. Every game is a potential banana skin. Sure look at some of the games City / Utd / Chelsea have lost down the stretch over the past few years.

Next Sunday should be the sole focus. The City game becomes important only after ~6pm.

Why would anyone go beyond boards for it?...our football friends in the Arsenal thread, the United thread, and the Chelsea thread have enough bitterness to power a bitterness powered Transformer for years.

What a goal and performance from this little fella. Great week for him.
I feel he has goals in him and just needs that bit of shooting confidence. Yesterday will help.

There is a lot of bitterness out there. While I drop into the other threads occassionally to have a look, I generally ignore the numpties who threathen all sorts of bizarre **** should we win the league.

MOTM performance and a goal Sunday, I really hopes he makes the Brazil squad would give him a massive boost.

If Brendan Rodgers wins the league he'll go down in history as one of the greats.

Their playing so well and a lot of non Liverpool fans have acknowledged that their playing great football.

Hope Brendan and the lads bring it the title to Anfield.

Would be amazing for him but I highly doubt he will make it given he hasnt been in any of their squads. :(

He won't! Think Scolari pretty much has his squad finalised, only a major injury crisis would give him any chance of getting in!
