You sure it's not the coolant reservoir cap leaking? Aren't they troublesome?

Put a sheet of cardboard underneath the rad. Always useful for Helping pinpoint leaks.

    Cheers lads,

Pretty sure, just had a look there, can see it all down the front right of the rad, all hoses I can see look...ok and the expansion tank looks fine too. All moisture down the front/side of rad. Seems to be a common complaint on these, especially given the age, mileage of the car.

Was supposed to get wheels on Sat...now its going to be DIYing a new rad if I can get one!

Follow up question...if I go to an NCT retest for light alignment, will I fail if my low coolant light comes on the dash?!

Do they not refuse to do the test if any oil or coolant levels warnings are up as they don't want to be liable of something goes kaapoooof :D

I could of imagined that rule tho.

You can only be tested on what you originally failed on... however if they'll test the car with a coolant warning is a different question, no idea.

Either I'll have a new rad for Sat morning and replace and hope to jaysis it works, or I wont, and I'll fill/bleed the coolant and hope for the best!

Uh oh! I noticed some oil spots in my parking space earlier. So, I went out to check and sure enough... there's some oil residue on the bottom of the engine. :(

I'll check the oil levels tomorrow morning, but not sure what else to do. No spare cash for repairs at the moment.

Does it make any difference if its a different test centre to the original test centre where it failed on the visual (drivers window not working).

You see - I will be passing through a town tomorrow that has an NCT test centre.

But alas not the same town as the NCT centre where it failed :(

I don't think it makes a difference. Ring the head office to clarify.

I did my first test in nenagh and the re-test in abbeyfeale a week later but did have to re-book online because it wasn't a visual (even though it should have been). Stupid frayed brake hose.

Just back from the wickla gap. Nicely illuminated by the moonlight. I counted 5 cars and a motorbike. Perfect night for just crusing with some good music :).

Maybe it's just me, and it probably is, but what's the big whoop about bmw in general? Honestly? I just don't see it

It's just an itch to scratch for a lot of people. Well my itch for them started when I was a school kid in the yard it's what we discussed. The top ten cars you would like to own. Bmw's, lambo's, etc...

While I like mammie's volvo for it's comfort and a decent kit, I love the BMW for its driveability, if it drives so well with the suspension ruined, I can only imagine what it's gonna be like in a week's time.

I always wanted a civic since I was young. Not even a vtec one, just any at all and the first car I got was a civic.

For me anyway it's the RWD, sweet engines and in the case of the E46 and E39's, great lookers.

To me they all look the same, same shape, same features, different reg, bigger or smaller depending on the series, but that's just me

Don't min TP, lads. He's just afraid of RWD yokes. :D
