After you fail, you must book a re-test within 21 days, otherwise you'll need to do a full test again.

It's a visual. He doesn't need to book anything.

He could, however it wouldn't be big enough to move his tractor! :pac:

I remember looking up kits to build those mini V12s and similar. And quickly discovering I could buy a full size one for less.

Yup, they're not cheap. They also sound really annoying!

Well I've FINALLY had the motoring Gods smile on me. It seems my EGR valve was replaced 6 months ago and is still under warranty. A quick call to Clareview Motors in Limerick revealed all. They seem very nice to deal with and were very upfront and happy to take the car in on Monday to sort it out. I'm getting a new front badge fitted while it's in too but sadly a set of genuine 159 mats cost €150+VAT so they shall have to wait.

    :)

    Patience young man, patience!

Let me know what spec you're looking for, e.g. model, years, engine size etc. I put together an RSS feed from all the main websites in Ireland for the car I'm on the hunt for. I can make a modified version for you. :)

That would be great, thanks man! I'm looking for a 2001-2004, the post facelift one with a 2.2 or 2.5 petrol. Preferably an M-Sport but not too pushed.

What spec are you looking for, I might know of an earlier 2.0 e39 for sale, not sure about spec

    Elderly gent selling it.

Cruise Control, MFSW, Dual Zone Climate and Leather preferred. Not a big fan of the 2.0. Would rather the 2.2 with an extra 20hp.

Hmm, no dice. Looks like some of my feeds are broken at the moment. :( I'm doing some web scraping so it's a little dodgy at times.

Even still, have a look at gumtree.ie, there are a few nice ones there. Also on donedeal.

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/bmw-520-m-sport-e39/6693477

Bit overpriced maybe, but looks nicely kept.

Cool, I'll put the word out, would have thought the 2.0 would appeal for tax/insurance

    Right, my 2024 Birthday wish is a Nissan GT-R or a BMW X5 M :D

GT-R maintenance is meant to be brutal

Yeah it's no bother. That's one that I've been eyeing up alright, it is pricey but does seem well kept.

It does appeal to me but I'd still rather the facelifted version and the extra HP. From what I can tell there's no difference in Insurance but the tax is a bit more but I'm willing to tax up to a 2.5 anyway.

Don't think an X5 M is that much better. :P

Well, it may cost less than a supercar and have a nissan badge but it's still a twin turbo V6 that does 0-60 in 2.7 seconds, I'm not really surprised by that.

For such crappy string, it held up well all the way to the phoenix park and again to Dunshaughlin. That was some experience to say the least....!

    Beer well earned today

Was it the driver's window, or a passenger one. I'm hearing conflicting reports about whether a passenger window is actually required to function of it it's just the drivers window.

    Drivers :(

    Its fixed now thankfully

Does it make any difference if its a different test centre to the original test centre where it failed on the visual (drivers window not working).

You see - I will be passing through a town tomorrow that has an NCT test centre.

But alas not the same town as the NCT centre where it failed :(

Andddddddd my rad is leaking. Well at least I think it's the rad, somewhere near the top, have small splash marks right on top of the engine, and can feel moisture down the front of the rad.

    Fecking hell

You sure it's not the coolant reservoir cap leaking? Aren't they troublesome?

Put a sheet of cardboard underneath the rad. Always useful for Helping pinpoint leaks.
