I thought Buttner did very well recently :/

Didnt matter how well he did. He was never going to get in over Evra :(

Kagawa at No10 with Rooney up top and Welbeck from the left I'd guess.

I doubt it. Welbeck lead the line well last week. Thought Rooney did a lot of under the radar work switching from the middle to the left, especially when Kagawa came on.

Yeah just saw a line up from MUTV with Welbeck up front witha trio of Rooney Valencia and Kagawa behind him. Don't know how reliable they usually are.

Happy with that team but felt Buttner deserved a start providing he was fit

    Can't believe it's not Buttner

I've got to laugh. A couple of weeks ago you were all talking about how bad Büttner was, and that he was never going to make it at the club. Now you're all gutted because he is not playing. Fair play to the lad. He might still not make it, but at least he has given a good account of himself lately.

I think its more to do with people not wanting Evra to play

Are we banking on Welbeck to lead the line?? Please god he just ****ing drives his foot through the ball if he gets the chance, no fancy ****....

He won't make it as a first choice so your point isn't correct, the choice for supporters is hard working but limited run his legs off Buttner vs technically superior but old not give a sh1t lazy Evra. Buttner isn't good enough to be first choice in the long term but he`ll give me less heart palpitations than Evra will tonight

In fairness to Buttner since he arrived he hasnt been given a sustained run in the team to build his confidence and get settled in the team. Very hard to look good when you are only getting cameo appearances

Lahm at FB will be a danger tonight, watch him drive Bayern forward. Needs to be tracked perfectly for 90+ mins

Who was it that said he was the most intelligent player he's ever worked with? Was it Pep?

It shows every time I've seen him, just seems to see the big picture in everything he does.

Uniteds twitter shows Welbeck on the left and Rooney leading the line. More than likely change a lot throughout though. Gutted for Buttner.

I d be very pissed off if I was Buttner. He scored on his debut then proceeds to be stuck on the bench watching Evra abdicate his defensive responsibilities and play horribly. Then he gets thrown in against the best team in the world and does all that is asked of him and more and then finds himself back on the bench again!

I've got to say that I also wanted Büttner to keep his place, because Evra is a liability defensively. He doesn't have the legs to run back, so will leave a lot of space behind. It's a gamble by Dave.

You would really wonder what's going through Charlton's head during these occasions. It must be heartbreaking.

True and having fans there singing 'The Red Flag', probably made it even more emotional for him.

A feeling of sadness, because he lost many friends, and also a feeling of what could have been, because that team was in my opinion ready to dominate Europe for the next decade.

A golden generation lost, budding young legends lost before their prime. What could have been, was not to be. In good times or in bad, United fans will never forget them.

    COME ON UNITED!!!

Dante and Boateng tend to push very high. That is something United could work to exploit. A well timed ball in behind could be the undoing...

Bayern just toying around at the moment...

God, Rooney bollocked around with that too long. Far too long. Should have just gone for it and at least tested Neuer before the defenders closed him down, or slid it to Kagawa. Chance wasted there.

Good work rate by welbeck , Kagawa and Fletch
