Sean Keane was singing Janey Mac I'm Nearly Forty with different words?

Hugh Laurie sings a song called "Changes" to the same air.

I'd love to get a gawk at that Pulse data base.

    Endless nosing.

I think it's worthwhile. He is a good speaker (if Tubs would let him talk). i haven't seen anything edited out so far, but it was prudent to pre-record it.

I'd really like to see him properly interviewed, i.e. not by Tubridy.

What's all this resign business, he quit .

Given the amount of non work related access to celebrity records on the Pulse system, I dont think any of the guards are mature enough to be allowed to use it...

    Exactly.

    I get the point.

So what is the point of the interview if nothing can be learned?...

Because he is still very well worth listening too. Just because he hasn't said something controversial or worthy of a law suit, it doesn't mean that people don't still want to know what he has to say, or explain why he has chosen to do what he did. I know I do.

Hafta say Ryan is coming across as a bit frosty. Does anyone else think that? I think it is odd, considering how brave this man has been and, how so many people would have a lot of time for him and for what he is trying to do. Wonder if Tubs was "leaned on" to go in a particular direction with the interview?

    Fair play to him

    Totally agree....

Very "at a distance" and not exactly impartial imo......

The no confidence vote was bound to be won by the Dail majority, is Tubs an idiot of what?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,604 ✭✭✭baldbear

2 months it took Shatter to say the right thing. If Wilson's health was better i'd say he would enter politics.

Retired, cofy ;), for family reasons. Disgusting, I say...oh wait, maybe I'm thinking of Shane Filan being shoved in our faces by RTE.

I was just thinking the same. There were are couple of times there where he would have gotten a round of applause had there been an audience.

The cops have been on a work to rule for years. Public servants take this type of action when you cut their pay

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,749 ✭✭✭✭grey_so_what

I wonder how the lads in the force on the ground feel about this as a matter of fact...

Yeah, it doesn't make sense considering his own FF background. If FF were still in power, I can see why Tubs would go after anyone who caused them grief. But seeing as this is a political hot potato that you'd expect FF to make hay from, you'd think he'd want to make it easier for them, by making this guy look as good as possible.

    2 out of 13,000 complained.

How can anyone be surprised listening to how this man who was ill had a rat nailed to his door and been searched etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

Every organisation or system needs a rigorous system of checks and balances.

The Gardaí do not have one. They refuse to cooperate with the Ombudsman and the former Commissioner was an apologist with no interest in dealing with those in his force who let the public and decent Gardaí down.

The damage has already been done, the question is, will it be forgotten by the electorate by the time the next election comes around?

    I won't.

    Sorry for getting political.

If murder cases have been compromised then a massive can of worms has been opened. Better start making some provisions in the government books.
