    now that is PROPER drivel!

You excuse the lambo for not seeing the Mazda pulling out slowly with his indicator on, yet in the very same breath you say that the Mazda expected to be able to see the matte black (and therefore less visible) lambo with no lights on that is almost literally half the height of the Mazda and would be obscured by pretty much every other car on the road, or at the side of the road?

You do realise that you are defending the lambo using exact same excuse that you using to blame the Mazda?

Have you considered a career in politics at all, you'd be very good at spin doctoring.

    I'll just keep repeating it:
OK, proof that Lambo was speeding besides "Jaysus, that look fierrce fasht!"?

And I am repeating myself a third time, yes, if you come from a sidestreet and you see another car with right of way and pull out in front of him YOU ARE AT FAULT FOR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
I'm glad I could clear that up for you, you're welcome...

You are the one twisting facts to suit his agenda.

Oh and if you think the Lambo wasn't speeding on this street - your fcuking delusional

For future reference according to some here, right of way no longer exists.

Pulling out in front of oncoming traffic is now acceptable.

Especially if A there is a bus blocking your view.

B the car is matt black and low to the ground, "sure be jaysus its his fault officer the things fecking tiny I can't see that low" is now acceptable and makes anyone with the audacity to drive a sports car liable.

In fact all oncoming traffic must give right of way to secondary road and now proceed to drive no faster than 20kmh at all times and come with a parachute attached at the rear should a car pull out in front of them for emergency stops.

Failure to comply with all of the above rules makes you liable in any accident.

Less visible lambo???? Fooken LOL :D

The Lambo sounds like a jet fighter crashing into a mountain side when it hits the car on the left.

Damn you....that was extremely painful to watch. Argh.

Anyway, if the guy can afford to spend a quarter of a million quid on a car then he can afford to get it fixed!

If someone spends a LOT less on a Mazda, I hope their insurance company can pay to get it fixed. No matter how much money the Lambo owner has, the Mazda caused that accident regardless of how fast the Lambo was going because the Mazda was changing lanes. The car in lane has full right of way, always has and always will be the fault of the car changing lanes.

I could bet you that if the Lambo was a normal family car everyone would say its the Mazdas fault and that would be the end of it.

The Aventador is a normal family car. When I crashed mine it really was my fault, texting and all that.

    On look.
» Accident Fault Guide » T-Junctions & Crossroads » Pulling out of a side road

As a general rule, primary liability rests with the driver of an emerging vehicle.

    1) Pulling out of a side road

The driver emerging from the side road is usually responsible for failing to take adequate care when pulling onto a major road, however, excessive speed and a failure to reasonably observe the road conditions ahead of him by the driver on the major road can lead to contributory negligence on his/her part.
not quite so cut and dry after all then.

Yeah it is as this case is cut and dry, The more I watch it the more I struggle to understand what is going on in the heads of people trying to transfer some of the blame to the lambo.

If the mazda drove out a fraction later he would have gone into the side of the lambo thats how close the lambo was when the mazda pulled out. There is nothing he could have done unless he was travelling at walking pace which is totally impractical.

Why are people saying the Lambo is speeding. There is no evidence at all to show he was speeding. The onus is on those to prove he was speeding, not the opposite.

The only conclusion which can be drawn from the available evidence is that the Mazda drive drove out in front of the Lambo and caused the accident.

I'm actually amazed by amount of posters here, who can tell straight away from the video, that Lambo was speeding.
Real professionals, as I wouldn't have a clue if lambo was above or below speed limit by looking at the video.

Proof that it wasn't speeding? Apart form "ah shure jaysus them lambos are fierce noisy at the besht of times". I'm giving my opinion, you're giving yours. And seeing as you're so sure of yourself, I hope you read the post below. You're welcome....

Well you'd have a fair idea to make an educated guess when you hear it coming and see what happens at impact.

The irony of what you just said in conjunction with "educated guess".

Seeing a car crash and hearing it moving towards you, the most sensible explanation is "the car is moving", not "the car is speeding".

Drop the sound argument, as this Lambo sounds a bit different than most other cars. It could sound much louder at 20km/h than other cars at 100km/h

And impact I can see is the same probable at 50km/h as at 80km/h.
    I just can't tell.
If video showed this Lamborghini at least for 1 second before the crash, it would be possible to estimate distance it travelled, and then calculate speed.
But from impact of crash itself - I just don't know.
I well could have been speeding, as well as it could have not.

Have to laugh at the Lambo defenders claiming Mazda is 100% at fault based on that video. How can anyone make a statement like that, video is rubbish. I wonder does the fact it's a Lambo cloud their judgement!

I'm not going to place blame but it looks like Lambo drivers reactions weren't the best whether due to distractions or poor visibility.

Don't forget it looks like a dry day and with 19/20 inch tyres and carbon ceramic 6 pots the Lambo would have stopped on a sixpence if doing the speed limit and driver paying attention

    Yeap sure....
20 inch tyres and carbon ceramic 6 pots have cruicial influence on stopping distance.

I assure you, that stopping distance from 30MPH (I assume that was the speed limit there) is very similar in this Lamborghini as in Ford Fiesta or something similar.
With 1 second driver reaction time, it comes at about 23 metres.

    Allright so.
You are claiming then, that Lambo was speeding because it was loud.. Am I right?

I well could have been speeding, as well as it could have not.

Also, it's quite evident from the video that the Mazda pulled out almost directly in front of the Lambo, because it pulls out at pretty much 0:00 of the video and even before the time indicator jumps to 0:02 the Lambo hits the Mazda.
We definitely can say the Lambo driver had less than two seconds, I'm almost leaning to 1 second in which to react and come to a complete stop. At 50 km/h, that's just not possible. Even at 20 km/h that's not possible.
    So there you have it.
Car pulls out of sidestreet less than 2 seconds before a car with right of way, leaving the other car no chance to stop or avoid the accident. It is not reasonable to expect the other car to drive in a manner to expect complete idiocy and blindness from the Mazda driver, therefore Mazda 100% at fault.
And all that with time-indexed proof from the video.
Counter proof please as to the visibility of the Mazda, speeding of the Lambo and the Lambo not showing reasonable care when driving.
There isn't? Great stuff, I'm off to bed. See you all tomorrow no doubt.

No, that's not quite right, although the sound is a factor here...it sounds as if it is accelerating right up to the point of impact. I'm also going by what I can see in the video, which isn't that much but it's all we have to go on. I've already said that my initial reaction was it was the Mazda driver's fault, but having watched it several times, I think the Lambo was likely going too fast.

Either get your ears checked, or listen to the following.

It's actually an ideal video. In london, identical car, you can hear the exhaust note at very low speed, and what actual acceleration sounds like.

Thanks for that, I'd never heard a car accelerating before  And I got my ears checked a few months ago in a medical, they were fine. Thanks for your concern though.
