Right, all issues sorted, streaming now works on both boxes, seems like the perfect image now. Uploading. Be sure to create the swapfile in hddmount manager on first boot

lads i am without internet for a couple of weeks as i managed to cancel my mobile broadband and am waiting on a phone line to be installed for the new service so i cant use dreamboxedit and am wondering can i organise all the FTA channels into one bouquet? and is there a way to figure out which channels are FTA and not on sly? ie; the saorview RTE rather than the sly RTE? thanks in advance, Nigel

All sat fta channels are in one bouquet as it is if you run autobouquets. Then find the saorview rtes etc and when highlighted press menu, then select add service to bouquet, that brings up a list and add them to free to air. When you have them added delete all other catagories and switch off AB. You can also move around the order of the channels in the bouquet using the menu.

Learning as I go - what is the swapfile for and what does it do?

Ah deadly that sounds like it's doable, cheers

Sound, I am running TTGs image and have tailored it the way I want it with pretty much everything working well.
Any way I could extract whatever packages are needed and how I could apply them to TTGs image?

I am using TTGs V3 image and it displays the correction channel on the front panel.

You have an older box with the old display

So the Amiko Alien 2 Triple Plus - 2x DVB-S2 1x DVB-T2 is an old box?

Please read the thread, I posted this earlier

Only the very latest batch of AA+ boxes have the new VFD, that makes 3 revision Alien 2's
AA, AA+ and now AA+new VFD.

Another slight edit, Dropbox zip updated and uploading. Get the latest version of you can.

I've included the terrestrial.xml file, if you flashed earlier and don't have Italy in tuner config copy the terrestrial.xml to /etc/tuxbox and restart enigma. This terrestrial.xml will most likely fix terrestrial tuning in other images.

First off have you formatted the drive to ext3?

If yes, go to pk bkuepanel via the blue button or menu button. Press disk, then I think you press green to mount all drives. Are you using my image(TTG)? It should automount if that's the case.

If you haven't formated the drive yet I would recommend paragon partition manager for Windows.

I can do the testing if you need.
I have backed up your image with my modifications so should easily be able to restore.

No, v3. Haven't got around to making a complete v4 image yet. It still has a few small bugs which I'd like to be sorted before I tell people to upgrade. To be honest there is very little difference.

Yeah not much between Hyperion v4 and 3 but they have solved a few issues in V4.

Firstly the remote fix is built in so you dont have to mod the lirc settings.
The PLi-HD skin has been fixed so the Now and Next works properly on it and it doesnt have the minor spelling errors it had before.
V4 uses less memory and recording on it is definitely better than before ,I managed to record 2 HD channels and watch a third no bother ,V3 was struggling under that load.

All the streaming plugins I had running on V3 work fine on V4 ,rteplayer,1channel,mediaportal.

The Ac3 audio levels are still a bit low but thats an issue on every image bar HDMU .

I actually tried out HDMU this week for a few days, very nice image ,has the best download server and some nice features.Every plugin I threw at it worked well .
PLi-Hd skin works nicely on it too .
I'll throw up a backup of it next week ,and my Hyperion 4 backup too if I have time.

Is it just Alien releasing these updates or is it effecting the Triplex too ?

I presume so, they are made on the same line in the Fulan factory with identical components. Sab Unix and GM Triplex are not as common here.

Below is a link to my Hyperion v4 based Complete Image - for the Amiko Alien2 and other ST7162 Based Boxes.

This image is working with the following:
    AutoTimer
    AutoVolumeAdjustment
AutoBoquets 20131020 (works in about 60 secs)
    CacheFlush
    CrossEPG 0.8.1
    CoolTVGuide v7.0
    EMU Manager
    MyTubePlayer
    OpenWebIf
OSCam v9550 (with blank sample readers)
    PermanentTimeShift
    Various Skins
    Rats Picons
    RTE Player
    Samba Server
    Sly HD bootlogo
    Soarview Picons
Streaming / Recording of $ Channels while watching another $ channel
    TSMedia 5.6
    Virtual Zap.

Use the Download menu in Plugins or just FTP the .ipk files to the /TMP folder, telnet to the box and type IPKG INSTALL xxxxxxx.ipk. This should work for most plugins. CoolTVGuide is linked to the EPG button

The image is setup to use DHCP automatically and is also set for using HDMI at 720p. Terrestrial channels may need to be rescanned depending on your geographical location.

FTP and Telnet - Username "root", Password "pkteam"
OSCam - http://box_ip:8888 - Username "root", Password "oscam"
    OpenWebIf - http://box_ip (Default Port 80)
    DreamBoxEdit paths - /etc/enigma2/

Newer revisions of the AA2 have a slightly different driver for the display on the front of the box. As a result on these newer boxes your display will show "Boot" all the time. When a fix becomes available I will update the image and post it on the forum.

For the terrestrial channels a manual scan works fine. Automatic scan does green screen from what I remember.

Give my image a try guys, I have had great success with it on 4 boxes, all version AAs and have 2 mates very happy with it on theirs too. No bugs as far as I can see, other than the single green screen in cold boot

I'm using a plug in called Transmission for downloading torrents, is there any way to copy this off my box before trying a new image? Just in case its not in the download menu.

Nearly certain it's in the download menu of my image. I'll check this evening if nobody has answered it by then.

Never set up transmission myself, does it work well? Cause much lag etc?

Cursor, you mean the spinner? Could it be looking for a Saorview channel that isn't tuned? Pretty sure I left it on BBC One, maybe I didn't.
