If we can match or beat their offers then it should be an easy choice for the players.

No-one is really sure how much money the Glazers are willing to spend, and even if we do match other teams offers there is still no guarantee.

I don't reckon that top players across Europe are dying for the chance to play for David Moyes.

    I am confused.

When I go into a Manchester United thread do we talk about Liverpool now?

Because any time I take quick sneak over to Liverpool thread for past 2 months all they is talk about United.

    Im confused Ted:pac:

    ----

On serious note there seems to be progress in the Singing Section been made permanent in the near future.

Its been a super success so far in the couple of games its been set up for.

Maybe we should rename this the Liverpool FC superthread, might get some United centric discussion in it :pac:

make the difference in ushering in a new era of success returning United to the pinnacle of European soccer...that sort of challenge will appeal to these players egos.

As long as Moyes is manager, no player will believe that United can be serious contenders again for pinnacle of United.

The battle for possible Europa League will not interest the top players.

Mata joined so that point isn't valid

Money talks, and it's obvious to to any top player the quality united have in the forward positions. They are a couple midfielders and defenders away from having a top class side

I'm in the Moyes out camp FWIW, but I still think he'll be given another season

I would have to say the Kroos thing though looks to be just posturing to get that contract he wants at Bayern, he'll stay there in all likelihood

In all likelihood this is spot on and exactly what will happen. Although, he is such a talented player, if there is even a sniff he may be available, we should aggressively try to make the deal happen, but obviously working on other more likely targets in the meantime.

No point in putting all our eggs in the one basket, only for someone to come along and sh!t in that basket.

This is total bollocks. It's one thing being in the CL, it's another thing having the ability to win it. With the investment made in the summer we will have a team with the capacity to win it.

A player of 23-25 years of age is not going to care about missing CL for 1 season if they can see the team being build is one that could challenge for winning it in 3 years time.

Maybe Moyes isn't the right man for the job but you can bet United will be a far more attractive proposition than most teams out there.

One of your lads is about to lose his mind over in the Liverpool thread, could someone come over, put an arm around the shoulder and escort him away slowly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,283 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Not sure who you're talking about, I don't see anyone losing their mind there apart from some deluded scousers maybe.

    U21s just finished.

    Wolves 0 - 3 James Wilson

first with his left foot. Other two with his right. Three quality finishes really.

Would imagine Wilson will be going to America with the "first team" this summer - with a number of players possibly late/missing the tour due to WC/breaks. Hopefully anyway.

    Talented kid.

That's right, quote the gifs. Good lad.

He's surely the most lethal striker we've had in the youth academy in a long, long time?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,333 ✭✭✭brinty

    @ Mitch

There's 3 players based in Portugal that we've been linked with. I assume if I say all three you'll tell me its one of them. And 2 of them will address area's that we'll need strengthening

    Garay - Experienced CB
Carvalho - Inexperienced CM (Huge potential)
Gaitan - no needed, we have better players already

Am I right in it being one of those three names??

Just got reminded of the rule that Premier League squads must include eight home-grown players in a 25-man pool in an article about United and City going head-to-head for Barkley and Shaw.

Barry is already out on loan, Richards didn't make the bench in the cup, and Rodwell, even though he had a lot of time out injured, has never really featured.

Likely that City will be looking for some young English talent this summer. The premium on good English players will be upped even more if City are going for them too.

Don't let Juventus see those Wilson gifs.

    They need a good striker

One of the papers saying we have opened talks with sporting for carvalho....

hopefully his fee, if we get him, would be well short of the 30million quoted.
