He wrote this one apparently! He was a busy man, he was involved in most chart hits at the time, one way or another.

The caption talking about The Motors, there.

There second hit was a blatant rip off of the Grandstand theme

Somewhere in the loft I have the original album Approved By The Motors.
The cover was changed for American release because they were, quite frankly, ugly b*stards.

    Good album though.

Remember how we were all blown away by the 'Money For Nothing' video in 1985?

Computer animation truly reached its peak :D

Actually looks a bit like Chris Martin.
    Much unfairly-maligned band IMO.

There is a good case to be made for the contention that Jesus Of Cool is the best British album of the late 20th century.
    Sorry, I'm a fan.

    This was a great song!

It's a perfect piece of pop.

Just the right amount of production. Lovely stuff.

I know what you mean...back in the 80's, they were seen as making music that only 'yuppies' bought (here in the UK anyway).

Dire Straits were a great antidote to punk. 95% of punk bands were rubbish, with the exception of the likes of The Clash. Knopfler could actually play more than three chords ;)

Bible-belt America didn't like the album title, changed to 'Pure Pop For Now People' in the US
