Never understood why that doesn't get mentioned more in these discussions. I've nothing against the language or anything but that allowance of extra points puts others at an unfair disadvantage. Someone could miss out on a place in college just because someone else decided to do it in a different language. Doesn't seem right.

There's a leaving cert forum last time I checked, not sure what relevance what you're posting has with this thread.

It's as relevant here as the thread is.

Good to see something finally go in there. I'd say there's quite a bit of work to be done on it over the summer.

My cousin was living in it up to a few months ago. there was about 20 people renting rooms iirc.

Well it's been more like a 20yr campaign to get a Gaelcholáiste for the area. I'm pleased to see that the building will be a school again rather then a clutter of apartments built by a shady developer.

What about an above board developer. Would that have been ok?

Really? The front green was totally overgrown and the place look deserted last time I was out that way. Good while ago now though I suppose.

It's mildly amusing that a language which was derided for centuries as being the language of ignorant pesants is now so suddenly being derided as the language of elitists....

It's a last resort tactic of the anti-Irish brigade: "If all else fails, accuse them of elitism!"

    They've gone full circle :D

Yeah, it was about 18 moths to 2 years ago at this stage that I was moving stuff in for her.

It was a management company renting it for cheap to keep it occupied or somesuch. Might have been a stipulation of insurance or something like that.

Nice to see them use such a beautiful building for something.

It is a tiny difference and open to all to attempt.

Then you must find the plans to award points to athletes equally as wrong too? Or the bonus points for Higher Maths?
