    ^^

Well if ever anyone needed a reason to avoid this place there it is. Its the internet equivalent of the back of the bus on a third year school tour.

    You're just jelly. :P

    why you say liveline?
Go to the radio forum and look at the liveline megathread. It's huge. Lots of other exciting stuff going on in other radio threads. :pac::pac::pac:

There are just a lot more areas to browse within boards than before, I always thought of AH as the lobby (like the way chatrooms used to be set up, remember them?) where people would congregate before or after attending their own particular area of interest. I haven't been as active recently because of the limits of what I can do while sitting in class but I do a lot of hovering over topics rather than reading through threads these days. (I'm half afraid my tutors will block it if they catch me) I do spend a fair bit of time reading the journal most days tho, which I figure is a safe bet insofar as what I'm allowed to browse. (and a bit of tumblr for the giggles)

I find boards.ie is a bit of a taboo, I've only ever met about a half dozen of people that openly admit to using it.

Maybe I should start more threads?

Do that. You do that, backwardsman. And wait........................

That role is exclusively Teddy Tedson's! Cause he's a thread started, a twisted thread starter.....

Only here a few months but there seems to be a bit too much censorship of ones opinions. Maybe that has something to do with it?

more like latent derailment going on, and boardsies belittling other posters points

Too many people on here with the holier than thou approach. Mods far too scared of legalities doesn't help either.

That's why woodies is'nt complained about in Consumer Issues or Customer rant and praise that much. Completely wooden.

I have to say I agree . Some of the mods are so PC it's frightening.

What's dying is the frequency of actual decent discussion - it's just really bad puns and stupid jokes derailing threads most of the time. Maybe we can see the statistics I'm sure it's doing just as well if not better than in the past - but proper discussion of topics and events has certainly been going downhill for a long time.

The Politics sectiion of the forum has certainly been suffering. I think there are too many sub forums which means each section has fewer views and people miss out on topics that they're interested in.

    why you say liveline?

One of my posts on Boards was quoted on Tuesday's programme.

    Why do you think that?

Because the order of the discussion is completely ruined. Imagine having a debate with someone where he keeps replying to something you said 25 minutes ago or something you haven't even said yet.

Conversation and debate is supposed to flow. People put forward positions and then defend them. With reddit style forums, it's just constant rhetoric and it's very difficult to see if someone is ignoring reasoned objections to their position.

I've used a lot of internet forums and the vbulletin style forums are by far the easiest to use and navigate.

Yeah people.dont understand after hours. Its not about discussion its about saying something you think is funny then returning to see if everybody else thought it was funny. Then curseing them all that they didnt find it funny because they have a vendetta against you and not your hilariously funny post. Then returning the next morning to see if any of the people found it funny at night time. Then curseing them again.
There is a forum for everything to discuss everything in.
This is really the section where you put a thread if you want it to get derailed I think.
It's also a forum where people think they win when they post in a thread about holding unpopular opinions and their unpopular opinion gets the most thanks

You can't buy that kind of amusement

Good. I don't want young people coming in here with their youth and hope and baggy jeans and such and such thinking they know everything.

They can feck off with their long hair and shania twain music, all hoofed up on goofballs.
