No but I've heard they're quite good.

Metroid Prime, the first one in particular, is ridiculously good. Mario Sunshine is a tad under-rated in my opinion, well worth picking up

The first one is better then Halo, at least as a single player game, outstanding.
The second of the best 3d platformer of that generation.

The Resident Evil remake I'd outstanding, Killer 7 is fecking mental.

Try and get your hands on Chibi robo, it's like a Pixar movie, so charming.

    I'd recommend both pikmin games.

For RPGs fire emblem is great but very rare. Tales of symphonia is great but you might be better getting the new he remake coming this month. Both baiten kaitos games are great.

Started playing the Lunar remake on PSP. It's such a great up beat game, it reminds me of Grandia so much and it's made by the same people. Really wish there were more RPGs like this, just a simple fun story about adventure and a sweet love story to make things interesting. It's better than the overwrought nonsense of square Enix games. I wish the people that made ni no Kuni had studied it, I was hoping that game would be similar instead of the dullness we did get. I just hope this time I manage to finish the game.

However it's not all roses. They re-recorded the famous boat song with new lyrics and butchered it in the process. I'm all for a more accurate translation but when it comes to music making it a decent song should come first.

Here's the original in all it's heart melting glory.

I played a spot of Donkey Kong Land 1&2 yesterday and had some fun.
I would say that, only for the screen on the AGS-101 it would have been a murky experience.
I must try them on the Super Gameboy next chance I have.

Gave Kirbys Dreamland 3 and Kirbys Super Deluxe a blast, absolutely amazing.
I have the latter on the DS but this is so much better, and full screen on my Kerbdog modded Snes.

I want to give te Kirby games a go but they still hold value so well it's hard to justify te purchase. I was in Hmv/xtravision in Finglas yesterday where kirbys epic yarn on Wii is still going second hand I might add for 35 euro!! Come on now.

I picked up the Kirby games for the Wii by avoiding the shops and keeping an eye on Ebay and Amazon.co.uk
    Here ya go link

Just spent an hour in the company of Tearaway, having neglected it for a while, and it's still incredible!
Want to make it last though, might leave it for another little while...

Just started Brothers on PS3 after a few hours of Mario World on the SNES.

My mate Liam is currently playing. Dubbed RetroBowl II for the night, last one went to 5am. 40 beers should do it.

Started a game of PS1 Gran Turismo. It's handy that the PS3 can play PS1 games but I'd still prefer playing on a PS1 for the ability to save on memory card, especially if I ever meet a friend who wants a head-to-head.

I'm beginning to both love and hate Lunar. While it's got a really great sense of humour that is very close to classic 90's anime like Sailor Moon the battle system can be very slow at times. It's even worse coming off the back of the incredible system for Shin Megami Tensei IV. They've made the dungeons tiny in the PSP remake but even still the slow battle speed makes it a slog. I'll muster on because I enjoy the story and characters so much and the battle system isn't bad, just slow!

You can, just go to the top of the game menu in the main dashboard, or whatever they call it, and there's a memory card facility, create and mount a PS1 memory card.
If you have an adaptor you can move save files from the PS3 memory and back again, I have oneE of those doohickeys from back when I had a 60gb 1st gen PS3, the good old days...

I enjoyed repairing my Famicom controllers this morning and followed it up with some obligatory testing involving Gradius and Super Mario Bros 3, and it all works just fine.
What is the best way though to clean the edge connectors on the carts, I can't get Balloon Fight to work and upon exam the edge connector of the cart is filthy.

Also I had a blast on Fantasy Zone on the PS2 compendium "Sega Classics Collection", I could never get into that game and this time was no different, although I may try to pick up the Sega Ages specific Fantasy Zone collection, it's supposed to be quite good.

    Rubbing alcohol is your friend for cleaning edge connectors. Something like this would do the trick;

You had to with the older version when it was in Beta stage.

There's a stand alone version now isnt there?

    Christ I've no idea now....
    On ebay it seems.
    PS3 mem card adapter
That's €17 not including shipping and you can transfer PS1/2 saves on and off the PS3 as you like.
I have one myself but it's fallen into disuse since my 60gb PS3 died and the PS2 functionality was nixxed by Sony so my replacement console won't run them.
PS1 works fine on it though.

Also, there appear to be 3rd party devices that do something similar but they don't advertise that they manage PS1 saves reliably.

There's a stand alone but from what I gather it's very beta at the moment so they're pretty different experiences. Might as well jump on the standalone I suppose it's not nearly as fully featured but it's going to be the one under continued development from now on. Less cheating going on as well hopefully. I kind of want to try Day Z but it sounds like the kind of thing you need two or three hours to play uninterrupted and I don't have a chance to do that much these days.

That looks like an official Sony product. Any ideas if it actually is?

The one I own is an official product and the one on eBay seems the same.
