These guys seriously bugged me so headed to forest of fallen giants for a bit to level up first, helped a great deal.

I played it for 7 hours before I figured out how to level up. Bloody Saoirse Ronan was definitely no where to be found when I first searched the place.

Making lots of progress now though.

Still slogging away at SOTN. Completely FAQless too, I want to see how the game pans out without any hints.

It's not my first time playing it, but it'll be my first time trying to complete the proper way. All I know is I need to get glasses to get to the inverted castle so won't be tackling any end game segments until I get to that point.

Fairly sure I'm almost there, have all Alucard's forms, most of their powerups... most of the map is uncovered be it a few glaring dark spots (I'm assuming the items I need to proceed are located around there)

What a game though, I remember it being great, but had forgotten just how great.

Edit: Been playing the game for 7 hours and only now have I noticed that 'Alucard' is 'Dracula' backwards :D

Further edit: It took me over 20 years to notice that 'Sega' was 'Ages' backwards (as in 'Sega, to be this good takes Ages'), so I'm not as bad as I was!

Had a blast of Megaman 2 last night, haven't really played it properly in years.

It was one of the main games I'd play as a kid when my cousin first got his NES in about 1990, so the soundtrack is ingrained into my memory. One of my favourite soundtracks across any media really. It's just bliss.

The game is not as hard as I remembered it. Which is an interesting flip to what I was expecting from Super Mario Bros. The controls are absolutely perfect and it's not the hardest thing in the world to get where you need to be.

Had to switch off the console and go to bed after finishing 5 bosses. (The vanishing platforms in the Heat Man stage accelerated this somewhat :pac:)

Going to go back to it in the next few days and see if I can get through it in one go.

Started Tomb Raider (new one I think) on PS2 last night, not too bad apart from the stupid QTE stuff.. Feels a bit like "Uncharted with tits".

Or perhaps Uncharted is "Tomb Raider with a penis"?

PS2 or PS3 Tomb Raider? The latest is a major disappointment - it has so many great ideas and rock solid mechanics, but effectively pisses them away with an endless onslaught of bland combat and OTT setpieces. It's worse because a far better, more ambitious game peeks out from time to time, which makes its conservatism elsewhere so regrettable. It's the most frustrating game I've played in a while for that reason: horrible that AAA games seem to have to conform to some magical formula rather than being trusted to do their own thing.

It is funny how the later games are deemed Uncharted clones, when Uncharted borrowed liberally from Tomb Raider in the first place :pac:

Playing Persona 4 at the moment on the PS2. A lot of pressing X skipping through dialogue, but I have to say the storyline is great. It's the first Japanese RPG I've played since FF7.

    Anyone else ever play it?

It's far and away the best RPG in the last 10 years. It's amazing. Pisses all over FFVII. Unfortunately for you once you finish it most other RPGs won't come close :)

Really enjoying the past couple of hours of Psyvariar. Epic shooting fun especially when played on my old school namco arcade stick. And even more especially when I'm drinking a bottle of weisbeir.

Ah ****e, I've a list of RPG's to go after I finished it! (Kingdom Hearts 2, Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Suikoden V). Should I leave it and go back to later after them??

Will give Persona a shot, but Suikoden I and II are the best rpg games ever IMO.

Don't even joke. The kingdom hearts series has the worst writing created by mankind. Yes it is worse than twilight.

I was just being hyperbolic. But god damn is it great. Just finish it, it's superb. You'll enjoy those other games as well... Except kingdom hearts 2.

I'm the biggest Suikoden 2 fanboy ever but persona 3 and 4 really are that good, up there with the great Suikoden 2

Started playing Dragons Crown, which seems really good so far. Although you need to make sure no-one's about when you walk into the item store :pac: Oh Japan and their hypersexualisation!

But it's hitting the Y key, you'll have to get the one built for the X key or it'll be a disaster!

    Played Snes last night :
    - Probotector (2 player Contra like, loved it apart form the top down view in some levels)
    - Micro Machines 2 (Classic 2 player)
    - Sensible Soccer (Best version on the snes I think)
    - Super Bomberman 2 (Brill)
    - Lawnmowerman (First play since the 90's, weird, 3d type levels get very difficult)
    - Pocky & Rocky (harder than I thought)
    - NBA Jam (aged badly)
    - Wild Guns (Difficult move and shoot)

Watched some TwitchTV on the Raspbery Pi XBMC also :
    - Goat Simulator ( Hilarious Giraffe with Jetpack)
    - Dark Souls 2 (Lobos Jr Speedrun)
    - Minecraft (I just don't get it)

so want to play that Goat simulator, reminds me of when you would go off on a rampage on GTA

Been playing through some Zelda games lately.Am about half way through the Wind Waker HD really loving the update, has to be one of the best looking games ever.
Also playing throigh Phantom Hourglass which is another gem of a game though the touch screen controls can sometimes be annoying.

Playing through my favourite Zelda game aswell, Links Awakening, it is a long time since I finished it as a kid so it's like playing it for the first time again.

Gave up on Persona 4 for while as I've played through twice and haven't got the true ending yet and sunk nearly 90 hours into it so far.

There's nothing special you have to do to get the true ending of Persona 4. It's just a few decisions you have to make right before the end. It's actually really badly designed so it's worth checking out a faq to make sure you are doing it right.
