The article mentions details of vehicles, etc. were gotten so hopefully the Gardaí can follow the matter up.

Well no excuses possible there. Two stags, out of season, leaving the scene as soon as they saw people approaching, etc. Not a leg to stand on.

Why are there different seasons up north, you would imagine something like that would be the same nationwide!

Bar incompetence I can't think of anything which should stop it either.

If someone used incompetence as an excuse they need a slap of a hammer.

"Sorry your honour-ship-judge-ness. I didn't know the boy deer had horns on their head".

In all seriousness (yes that was a piss poor attempt at humor) the fleeing of the scene is a nail in the coffin. If someone shot blindly at an animal they would be too "shocked" to try and run. These feckers knew they would get into trouble so legged it.

I meant incompetence on the part of the Gardai, NPWS or DPP which cause a mistrial or some other botch where they go free.

Don't think that'll happen but I'm a pessimist so I wont consider it another win for genuine hunters until I read the sentencing.

Also just realised that this is probably sub judice and therefore shouldn't be discussed until a sentence passed
