He also talks about what a lot of people are thinking

"The notion that the guy with entitlements worth €750 per ha was twice as productive as they guy with entitlements of €350".

In a lot of cases the lower entitlement holder was twice as productive because he had to be in order to survive!

This is the bull$hit right here. Conmacine Mara and myself have had a couple of right oul barneys on this question and it turns out that Cons max payment around €15,500 (according to his own posts on another thread) was around €7-800 lower than my max payment. His has been hit harder than mine with some schemes going but you'll have to explain to me how his payment which he hopes to get back up to is a small one worthy of protecting and enhancing whereas mine is a large one, a symbol of greed, sharp practice and insider gombeen politics which must be severely cut in the name of fairness because I've "had it god enough for long enough" according to more than one poster.

was amazed the other evening at parent teacher meeting how young the teachers are, of the 12 teachers i spoke to only 2 would have been over 40, the majority where under 30, felt old:o

Half and half where my kids go. Two of the teachers were there in my time but they were only young ones fresh out of Maynooth. One of them has a son that plays soccer with my eldest. Mrs freedom was a bit taken aback on our eldest's first day when his teacher comes over and gives me a hug at the door of the classroom. She thought a lot of me for some reason probably due to the fact that she never taught me. I played football with the principal but the other two are a bit younger.

Using my case to prove Reiligs argument won't work, as I was never allowed to be productive - which I always wanted to be.

    Good post
Last year I was trying to explain that we were trying to protect the SFP of farmers with €400 - 600 because a lot of them are suckler farmers with 30 - 40 ha which coincidentally is the average size farm for IFA members. To survive they need every euro of that. A table on the journal today projects they'll be losing up to 25%.
Unfortunately with that policy it was easy to be a victim of the spin doctors

Got the fright of my life heading to the mart this morning. Was going around a mini roundabout slowly and the back of the jeep slid when I started turning and the whole thing started to jack knife. Lucky enough I threw in the shoe and steered out of it but I was shaking for a few minutes after. Very close to chaos :(
