    What happened?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,880 ✭✭✭Kaiser D

My gf hit a street light (its hers now)

Bumper got off lightly, just popped back in, bonnet is fecked though. I had a go at fixing it.

Shame really, as it was exceptionally clean.

    At least nobody was hurt.

Yeah, it was a small crash really.

Its her first manual, so I'm not so annoyed. It only cost me €225 too.

Sure it would be worth close to that in scrap value would it. As long as there is no one hurt that's the main thing.

    Right stupid question time!

I have my insurance money for the saab ready to go, quoted at 1700 at 22 yrs 2 years no claims, however, my birthday is due in march and i got quoted at 1400, Also, I seriously need a car to get around, things are starting to pick up here, so the question is, do i go for the 1700 and hope it goes down when i turn 23? Or wait it out?

Again I do need a car, as the opel is off the road from tonight at midnight

    I'll get through it.

I'm just really, really glad it wasn't in one of my own or her old car tbh. I'd be properly pissed then.

Wait if you can, It's a significant saving and they won't bring it down until your next renewal.

Did you try fbd. They seem to be doing ridiculous low quotes at the moment. I renewed and moved to them and they were over 600 quid cheaper than the next cheapest quote and were giving a lot better cover. I heard a few people who got good deals of them in January. Although maybe they were just trying to sell a certain amount of policies for January I don't know. I was delighted either way finally I have breakdown assist which is no harm with the focus going on previous experience.

Might be worth a call there call centre staff are generally quite good. I know when I was talking to them it was like they were just trying to sell as many policies as possible chances are they will undercut liberty. But then I don't know whether the engine size would be an issue. They wee the only company that would insure me on the octavia. Although most I can kind of see why most companies would 6 month provisional drive brand new octavia what could go wrong :pac: ah no I suppose that would be risky enough still fbd done it no problem although it did cost a fair bit.

I thought the whole 518d thing was a joke. I just seen a dealer advertise a brand new BMW touring 518d  thats a lot of car for that engine. What bhp are they putting out. A big estate like that must be heavy enough weight wise.

Ah right I thought you were just trying the online quote. Looks like you'll have to go with liberty then.
