No poll option on Home alone 1-3 or Home Alone 4-6?

Because it doesn't warrant a place up there.

Com'on we talking proper films here :)

For consistency and entertainment, Lord of the Rings

If Terminator 3 didn't suck, I'd say that

The Godfather was great up until the 3rd one. Has to be the LOTR.

    Beverly Hills Cop
Got to be the Godfather, with Back to the Future a close second.

LOTR, much as I enjoyed it, it just felt like Hollywood knowing they were on to a winner, then throwing a sh*tload of money at it in order to make a sh*tload of money multiplied by two.
(as seems to be happening with all the Marvel/DC Comics films of the last few years)

Im new to this thread so forgive me but is the Terminator and Matrix movies not listed here?

The six ones that spring to mind are Dollars, Indy, LOTR, Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight, Toy Story, and the three proper Bourne movies with Damon (not that awful cash hungry crap that is the fourth one). The three original Indy movies are great - all three have a lot to offer.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were outstanding, but there were a lot of problems with The Dark Knight Rises unfortunately.

Back To The Future is a classic but the sequels are just fun extra adventures with the characters, nothing more.

Alien and Aliens are classics, but I HATE Aliens3. As far as I'm concerned, Ripley's story ended with Aliens.

First two Lethal Weapons were great (Diplomatic immunity...It's just been revoked!), but the third suffered from a notable dip in quality. Same with The Godfather (although 3 has that great line, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in")

As for the Cornetto trilogy, I loved the first two but World's End left me a little cold, although it did have one of my favourite jokes of the whole trilogy - "Look at you - drinking f*cking raaiiinnn!" :)

Die Hard is a classic, Die Hard With A Vengeance is great fun but Die Harder is just alright.

Three Colours Trilogy. Not only a great trilogy but up there with some of the greatest films ever produced.
Great to see this getting a few mentions on here :)

Either this or Antonioni's L'avventura / La Notte / L'eclisse trilogy is my favourite.

The Godfather 3 isn't that bad of a movie. It's become almost a cultural trope to dismiss it as utter tosh.

    Absolutely!

It's kind of like the way people are so keen tell you about how unreliable Wikipedia is, even though when they want to get info on something new they'll more than likely read ONLY Wikipedia!

L'Auberge Espagnole/Les Poupées Russes/Casse-Tête Chinois is a fairly decent trilogy.

Matrix 2 and 3 were average, at best.

Apart from Empire, the entire Star Wars franchise is sh1t. I mean, Jedi is so bad. Just dreadful.

LOTR for me. No bad movie there, and each one better than the last.

Except for the last one ... The film that wouldn't end ....

The last one was the best. Anytime I see best of lists, it's the highest ranked. And I believe it won the most awards, including the only best picture award the trilogy got at the Oscars.

But yes, the ending was drawn out. There were a lot of threads in the film though, much to close off. I can see why he did it.

Would it be wrong to suggest Steig larssens "the girl with the dragon tatto/played with fire/kicked the hornets nest" trilogy?

What's so good about the Godfather? Honestly don't get it.

My vote would go to the Millennium Trilogy films or possibly the Might Ducks.

    quack

OK, not the best, but a trilogy I do have a soft spot for is the Mad Max trilogy.
How the hell does Star Wars 1,2 and 3 have 3 votes? 3 of the biggest piles of shíte ever made.

The inclusion of Beverly Hills Cop is bizarre. The third film is generally accepted as one of the worst blockbusters of all time.

    Star Wars - Episodes 1,2 & 3:
shouldnt be on this list either.

Indiana Jones (First 3): Indiana Jones was a 4 film franchise, no point in cherry picking the first 3. The last instalment, with nuclear proof fridges and
    aliens
, was a difficult watch and ruined a great franchise.

Lethal Weapon: Again, not a trilogy ;)

The Godfather:, Back To The Future and Lord Of The Rings: yes all trilogies. Well done.

For me it has to be Back To The Future.

The first one is arguably the very best film of the 80's.

The second, although not upto the same high standard, was years ahead with its Special FX and made us all want to go to the year 2015 (they have a year to make all that cool stuff happen)

Back To The Future III is the most under-rated of the trilogy imho. Its Doc's story this time and Christopher Lloyd's chemistry with Mary Steenburgen makes the film a bit special.

A film trilogy I try to revisit once a year and the greatest of all time.

All thats needed is a few seconds of this music and we're hooked
