Yeah cos a 40m midfielder isn't already guaranteed game time.

With a fit Walcott, Wilshire, Ramsey, Rosicky, Podolski, Oxlade-Chamerlain, Gnabry, the chance of rotation always looms, particularly when we get to CL weeks.

    Will Wildcard tonight for

    Howard

    Kos Terry Colman

    Ozil Hazard Gerrard Yaya

    J Rod Lukaku Suarez

Im dithering on Marshall/Mannone or Howard/3.9 keeper

    Thoughts?

Aguero nearing a return in two weeks:

"Sergio is working normally but I think he has at least one or two weeks more to go, probably two."
    Manuel Pellegrini

The article mentions the possibility of him being back for January 18th.

Is Ozil fit for this weekend?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,553 ✭✭✭✭Dempsey

Just pulled the trigger on Walcott to Ozil, 2 GWs after getting rid of him for Walcott. Think I managed to make a slight profit out of it too!

Really hope Ozil will play! :pac:

He had a cameo against Spurs so i assume he'll be fit for next week and should start

Arsenal play Monday night so he should be fine.

He last played Stephens Day so will have had two and a half weeks off when the game is played.

I saw that. Im actually thinking of getting him in on wildcard and just playing 4 4 2 this week. Madness?

If it suits your team I say go for it. Either that or play a striker for one week and have the cash sitting there for an immediate upgrade.

Lads here's my team after the wildcard. I'm sure I will make changes before Saturday. Very much not sure about it right now. What do you think? Is Baines too pricey?

    Krul, Mannone
    Baines, Celutska, Ward, Evans, Shaw
    Silva, Eriksen, Hazard, Mutch, Assaidi
    Rodriguez, Suarez, Rooney

Have no money in the bank either if this is the team in stick with

Right lads, I fooked up pulling the trigger early this week to get Ravel out for Huddlestone. I really only wanted somebody who would play every week as a 4th mid who wouldn't bleed my Wildcard Budget away. Rookie mistake in FA Cup week but I am a rookie after all! :)

Really trying to avoid silly hits!

So, would you play this team for GW21 and suck it up, or would a -4 be worth it from the position I've left myself in?? I'd get Ozil in for Walcott till the WC which I'll prob play as late as possible. Subs and Huddlestone have bad fixtures, although I'd expect Rooney to play.

Meh, I wouldn't worry about the Cup at all. It's really there as an incentive for players with poorer scores at this time of year to keep playing. It's not something you'll win.

Sorry, I meant a mistake to do an early transfer in FA Cup week.

Sorry yep got you now that makes more sense! I luckily held onto mine but I still have 2 doubtfuls. Wildcard might have been wise

Think there will be benefits in holding off on WC. Team in ok shape, my subs just have bad fixtures this week, and Huddlestone may not have been best short term option.

If i wait till Friday to do walcott to ozil and get no more serious injures i'll be ok.

Would you hold or hit? Thats the question. Edgin towards holding, can take a 0.1 fall on Walcott without affecting resale, and hopefully Ozil wont go up much more than that. Ozil would need to get 6 at least to justify it if Hud gets at least 2 from Chelsea game.

Brought in Cazorla for Walcott. Its a straight swap in every sense really. £9.5 each, and with Arsenals injuries he is pretty much a guaranteed starter. Plus he has been playing well.

If you're not going to lose out on holding then hold. Just keep a close eye on which midfielders that you would like after WC and if they are near a rise. If there's none rising and you're not affected by a fall, then wait another day. The guy you want to bring in can always get injured in training, get ill, have his significant other give birth or fall off a stool after too many jagerbombs. So the longer you can wait and the closer to the deadline without affecting value, the better.

The real key is who you want after wildcard. If it's Ozil and he's getting huge transfers in, then move now and take the hit.

Good advice, thanks. Hadnt intended having Ozil after WC, initially this plan was to get him in till Walcott was back in a few weeks. However with the Walcott news I've not had time yet to reassess who I want in that MF spot yet. It kinda has to be an Arsenal player I think, so you're looking at Ozil or maybe Cazorla, or even Ramsey when he's back. Hmm.

have to ged rid of Walcott too but I can allow myself one price drop before it effects me, I'll only have 9.4 to spend so can't afford toure or ozil and with city at home to Cardiff next week I really want city cover so I'm thinking Silva. will wait until after tomorrow and see how he gets on in the league cup match.

With Walcott out it should mean that Podolski is almost guaranteed to start now. Was considering getting rid of him but not anymore!

Nope. Wenger has played Ramsey on the right wing a bit this season, Gnabry has impressed, Chamberlain is coming back. Podolski never plays on the right either, I'd imagine him being in and out of the team for the remainder of the season.

I'd agree with Royale with cheese here, I don't think there is any chance of Podolski becoming a week in week out starter but he will continue to get decent playing time, Gnabry will get the occasional 15 minutes and Oxlade-Chamberlain could benefit most from Theo's injury, it'll be between him and Rosicky for that spot in Arsenals best team. Ozil, Santi and Ramsey plus one of Flamini and Arteta(that doesn't even include Wilshere) are certainties, Podolski has his work cut out to make that final spot his, I'd love to have Danger's confidence as Pod would be an amazing FPL player if he was starting even three out of four.

Ah lads.. Way to make me reconsider my entire view of him :p

I assumed he'd be playing as a second striker / in the hole behind Giroud.

Wait Cazorla / Arteta / Ozil / Wilshere coming up behind

A lot of players to fit into 6 positions (ahead of back 5)

As well as the 4 above:
Ramsey, Rosicky, Giroud will all be pushing in ahead of Podolski a lot of the time.

You could throw a few more names into the hat too.

I hadn't even taken into account in my last post that Pod is an FPL striker who only ever plays in a midfielders role for Arsenal, at 8.2m I think there are a lot of better options to be honest.

Yeah.. Arsenal have some serious depth in their squad..

Either way its not a priority this week anyway.

I gambled on him last week and was going to give him a chance against Villa this GW.
Then Theo happened and it was Wildcard time.

He mightn't be a bad bet for this weekend if you already have him, but not a keeper.

Yeah I already have him and have no intention of getting him out for a 4 point hit. ;)
