    Going back and forth on this one, can't decide.

    Yaya or Silva?

    Currently have Yaya but in two minds whether to go with Silva or not. Wildcard is active. Anyone got strong opinions on this?

    Anyone considering bringing back in Gerrard?

    I'd say alot of people will have players doubtful this weekend so I wouldn't worry.

    I have Cabaye, Rooney and Mutch. I transferred out Walcott.

    He'd be a nice differential if you were so inclined. I thought he was playing well before the injury. Hard to know how he'll do and how Liverpool respond after doing well without him

    I'd be amazed if Rooney didn't play.

    This Sunderland gk news has thrown a major spanner in the works, just brought Mannone in with my wildcard, I can still change it, its a shame though, the Mannone/Marshall axis looked so promising.

    I've been cursed with keepers this year, brought Mignolet in with my wildcard for gw4 and he got me one clean sheet over 12 games, then went for Howard for the next 5 gameweeks (Ful H, Swa A, Sun H, Sou H, Sto A) who earned me a grand total of 6 points. I'm sure many others have suffered a similar plight but it doesn't make it any less frustrating

    I can beat that! Had Mignolet like you and brought in McGregor during my WC as my sub keeper to take advantage of the good rotation between Liverpool & Hull. First game I had planned on using him for was GW10 as they faced Sunderland and Liverpool faced Arsenal. Of course he goes and gets injured before the game and Hull keep a clean sheet! Worse still, owners of 'non-playing sub keeper' Harper got ridiculously lucky and bagged 8 points from someone who shouldn't even have been on the pitch! Then I subbed out Mignolet for Howard as Liverpool couldn't keep a clean sheet to save their life, and Everton looked solid at the back. Liverpool faced Spurs away and Everton faced mis-firing Fulham at home. Yep, clean sheet for Mig, nothing for Howard. And Mig has since kept another clean sheet while Howard has pulled in a massive 6 points in 5 games.

    The final straw in this goalkeeper horror story - I held on to McGregor until he went off injured against United in GW18. The same week Howard got sent off for me... so I was facing no goalkeeper. All reports said McGregor was highly unlikely to make it back for GW19, so I brought in Mannone at a -4 point hit so I could at least field a keeper. Yep, McGregor plays and keeps a clean sheet and Mannone concedes! I can look back at plenty of moves I've done this season (not getting Ramsey for one...) and say it was bad decision making, but the above is just an example of how luck can f**k you over in this game! Luckily a huge number of people stuck with Mig so it's only cost me about 15 points. If I was in the same position again I'd make the exact same transfers.

    I'll be dumping Howard in the WC for Marshall - two cheap keepers is the way to go! I won't expect clean sheets from them so any are a bonus...

    What are Rooneys prospects of palying? Thinking of taking a hit for Negredo in. Ive already transferred Walcott for Cazorla.

    Moyes is giving a pre-match press conference this afternoon so hopefully we'll know more from 2pm on

    Unsure as to whether to keep him or bring in Ade/Negredo

    lots of decisions this week!

    Like a lot of people it seems, I'm looking to bring in a 3rd striker for this week who will then be ditched when aguero. The contenders are pretty obvious but there's a few to choose from:

    Lukaku, Adebayor, negredo, Wellbeck, dzeko, remy. Any thought?

    I'm debating with myself between Eriksen, (Palace(H) and Swansea(A)) and Silva (Newcastle(A) and Cardiff(H)) as my replacement for Walcott with the next two weeks in mind only, the advantage regards Eriksen is it will leave me a significant chunk of change to make a progressive transfer next week, this is looking the more tempting right now. I'd say there's a good chance Pelligrini will play Dzeko and Negredo on Sunday leaving Silva on the wing.

    Pelligrini has confirmed that Toure is fit for Sunday but did mention a little pain in his ankle, I'd expect him to play but remember earlier in the year when he rested Aguero in a similar situation, I think Toure is too important for City though to leave him out of an away game when he's even 90%.

    Rooney out vs Swansea

    Manchester United ‏@ManUtd 5m
    Wayne Rooney will miss #mufc's match against Swansea. The injured striker's gone away for some hot-weather training with a fitness coach.

    Now to decide who to replace him;

    Ade/Negredo/Dzeko/Lu

    hmm, I've had him in recently but thinking a gamble on Ade this week.

    The West Ham hatrick for Negredo is hard to ignore though.

    Gah! Was counting on Rooney making it.

    Now whether to rush a wildcard through or take a -4 hit. What are people doing? Should I just suck up the hit and hope that Ade/Negrado do the business?

    Could do with him playing vs West Ham.

    Going to take a hit for Rooney. Cabaye doubtful too. It'll be either Ade or Negredo in.

    Already have negredo. Strongly considering welbeck though with Rooney and RVP out, as a short term solution as i will be wildcarding in 2 weeks time anyway.

    Looking at Wellbeck myself,saving my wildcard 'til later so it'll be a 4 point hit.

    Fraizer Campbell could be a cheeky shot for tomorrow for those with little money to spare, Ole could have him buzzing to play for him.

    Rooney out is unfortunate. Not sure exactly what to do, any transfer out is for a hit and it'll probably cost me .4 to get him back in if I want after the Chelsea game.

    Tempted to sell for J-Rod and then captain him too but not captaining Suarez even away at Stoke could be foolish.

    I'll take the rest of the day to think about it. Danny G and Ravel are my 2 sub choices to ride it out. Not much in the way of points coming there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

    I also would have thought new signings like Eikrem and Marcos Alonso would have been added by now.

    I've taken the hit for J-Rod. I talked myself out of going for the other two popular options; Negrado (his abysmal away form) and Ade (Palace are pretty tight at the moment).

    Still captaining Suarez though. I'll probably never take the armband off him again. EVER!

    Fck it. Similar problem. I also have Walcott heading for a drop tonight and already have Huddlestone starting for him. Rooney our leaves me Gabbidon or Chester coming in. Hit time.

    Do I do Walcott to Ozil, or maybe even Gerrard?

    Or do I do Rooney to Ade or J Rod or even Giroud?

    All would be 2 week punts till WC.

    So much for a quiet Friday evening.....

    A part of me wants to hold onto Rooney, as I think I could pull off 3-5-2 with Ozil, Yaya, Lallana, Barkley, Sterling, Suarez, Negredo. Giroud is quite tempting right now though due to his upcoming fixtures.

    Just note that despite his recent good performances, the return of Sturridge to the squad will impede on his or Coutinho's game time.

    Rooney's also doubtful for next week. That's a lot of money warming its backside on your bench.

    Rooney to Negredo for -4 would leave me with Cabaye & 3.6m in the bank...

    Current Squad

    Gazzaniga, McGregor;

    Chico, Coleman, Chester, B.Turner, Gabbidon;

    Yaya Toure, Ozil, Cabaye, Ward-Prowse, Hazard;

    Suarez, Rooney, Lukaku;

    £2.1m Bank, 0 FTs

    Ya was aware of that John (I'm a Pool fan). Will be playing my WC at the end of Jan and he will likely be gone then.

    I know, although I have a feeling he'll play v Chelsea. The reason why I'm debating is because I played my 2 FTs on Wed night (Walcott -> Ozil, Cabaye -> Barkley). To take Rooney out would require his replacement to come up with some points.

    On a side note.....it's when things like this happen is when the game gets more interesting to play!

    My plan for this week was to transfer Nasri out and bring in Silva. Then Rooney, Walcott and Cabaye go and get injured. I can either get rid of Rooney for a hit, or do a late wildcard. I haven't missed out on many

    My main rival has Walcott, Ramsey, Rooney, Westwood and Collins all confirmed out, and Barkley also doubtful. He has activated his wildcard in the last few hours and its put the pressure on me! With Yaya back I'm unsure of the benefit in waiting, I'm already almost 50 points behind him and don't want to see him stretch even further ahead...

    You plan ahead for you wildcard and then half your f**king team gets crocked! This season is mental.

    I'd rather take a points hit than panic with a wildcard. I've already used my main one so this is to set me up for the rest of the season.

    Yeah, I'm planning on holding it till last possible GW. Rooney and Walcott and a silly early transfer have put me under pressure but I think a -4 will get me by.

    Keen to see Ramsey,Aguero and RVP options before committing to my team for forseeable future.

    Cabaye has been green flagged.

    Marcos Alonso added at 4.5m. Eikrem at 5.0 and Roger Johnson at 4.5.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

    I'm 46 behind my main rival, a 4 point hit would leave me 50 behind, and I would expect a wildcard team to beat mine this week, extending the lead even further. I would also be forced into playing 3 of the following 5.

    Nasri (may not even start, nailed on 2 pointer if he does)
    Cabaye (may not start and faces City at home)
    Morrison (may not start and hasn't been on form in a while)
    Chester (faces Chelsea)
    Gabbidon (Faces Spurs)

    I wouldn't expect more than 2 points from any of these! Coupled with Cabaye going down in value tonight, and Lallana and Rodriguez both going up... definitely in favour of wildcarding!

    On the other hand, I wanted the likes of Baines, Debuchy and Aguero in my team which was part of the reason I wanted to wait. I don't really want to leave £4m in my bank to bring in Aguero, might just have to miss him! And I wanted to give Lukaku another chance or two before dumping him...

    This game is so frustrating!

    This game is a marathon not a sprint!

    If you are so sure about the transfers you'll make this week, surely a points hit will cover it?

    Yeah but I'm in danger of not even being in the race if this week goes tits up!

    I've already made Walcott -> Ozil, and would have to get rid of Rooney at a hit. Even after that, I would be forced into playing three players that I really don't want to play. I would expect to fall further behind after this week because my main rival has wildcarded. I'm scared of the likes of Yaya, Ade, Lallana etc. On top of this, I will lose £0.2/£0.3m by not wildcarding tonight. And I havent really lost much by waiting either. Of the players that have risen already, we have Yaya and Lallana that I want, and possible Rodriguea/Eriksen. Not like I've missed the boat!

    Weigh that up against holding on to the wildcard - is it worth a possible 20 points? I don't think so! I woke up this morning not even considering using it, now with Rooney injured and Yaya likely to play I'm about 80% sure I'll be hitting the button tonight.
