First off I know this team isn't in the finest of fettle, but by replacing Walcott with somebody I'll survive another week without wildcarding ye think?

Neither have I decided on formation or captaincy but plenty of time for that. 4.7 in the bank too as it stands.

    @ Mr.Prodston

The obvious easy choice is Walcott -> Ozil.

But you might also consider Hazard/Oscar, Eriksen, Lallana. The latter 2 have the easiest fixtures on paper these next 2 GWs. So if you plan on playing your WC in 2 weeks time that might work for you ;). Kind of depends on what your WC plan is, I mean if you don't bring Ozil or Hazard/Oscar now, won't you be short cashwise if they are in your WC plan?

I'm relatively settled on what midfield I want and even if have to set aside .5 to bring it in later it may be worth it if I can get the forwards right. A lot could happen in the coming weeks. Oscar and Ozil were going to be in my WC before Wally got injured so I'm rather peeved about that and probably still will be.

This week's transfer probably will be Oscar or Ozil anyway. Just trying to talk myself into not wildcarding :pac:

    Team at the minute

    Krul
    McAuley Fonte Coleman
    Sissoko Cazorla Hazard Sterling
    Chamakh Suárez Lukaku

    Subs
    McGregor CHE (H)
    Ivanovic HUL (A)
    Ramsey
    Whitater

Badly need my wildcard but will wait another week.
Thinking of bringing in Eriksen, Lallana or will Oscar work also?? Is Stones a short term option in defence with Jags injured.

Re Stones I think he will make way for Dustin this weekend. Stones was man of the match on Saturday though so could keep his place. Hard to call

I'm not sure about Ozil. He had poor enough returns before his injury.
    His returns before injury were 2, 3, 5, 10, 11, 11. Decent returns I think.

I was suspicious of those figures so I checked them out, I see now what you've done, very clever:p

The 2,3 and 5 are what the reference is to

Think Ozil looked very tired before he got injured.
Hopefully the injury/rest will have him back looking fit and healthy (which is hard to tell with Ozil in fairness)

It was a big step up for him going from 60min to 90min games.

10 points in three games is not good enough from a 10+ million mid which Ozil was at the time.

All this shows is how stats can be twisted to favour both sides of an argument.

What's the deal with Rooney right now? Reckon he'll be back on Saturday?

Don't wanna take a hit to get rid of him but don't want to play down a striker either.

No clue. I hope he is

    Heh Heh Heh :p

Tbf I think the 32 points in the three gameweeks before the 5 make up for an average three weeks just prior to the injury.

Ozil only came into the league just before gw 4, has been injured the last two gw's and is still the fourth highest scoring midfielder in the league. He is definitely worth having imo, especially with Walcott and Ramsey both out.

Is Terry still worth bringing in at 6.6m?

    @Mr Prodston

I'd imagine you're planning on doing this anyway, but for the love of god start Arteta ahead of M.Turner this week. I know you're fond of him and all but surely your bias has limits.

I think he is but I'm not 100% sure. Mourinho seems to favor Azpil over Cole and if it remained that way I'd be inclined to go for Azpil myself. Chelsea have gotten their defensive act together and cover from them is a must now I think.

Exactly what I wanted to hear/read. And if some other people have the same feeling (Chelsea fans or not) I'd greatly appreciate a notice ;).

FT done. Ozil in for Yaya before he rises. May take a four point hit to get either Cabaye or Distin out over the next few days.

You forgot the 3, 6, 2 and 3 four games before that good run for three games!

Fourth highest scoring yet most expensive. Lallana, just two points off Ozil, started the game costing 4 million less than him.

Hazard and Yaya both started it costing less and have outscored him considerably.

Cabaye also missed the opening three GWs and is behind Ozil by 15 points, hardly enough to warrant the 3.5 million difference in starting price.

There's definitely an argument there that he isn't justifying the high price tag.

And you forgot the 15 and 14 in two of the four weeks before that. We can go on like that forever.

Ozil has only been available for 15 of the 20 gw's so far. The players you mentioned, Hazard, Lallana, Toure and Cabaye played 20, 20, 19 and 17 gw's respectively so far. Ozil has had significantly less appearances than all other top midfielders yet as been one of the highest scoring players in the game this year.

I can see how someone could feel that he hasn't scored to justify his value but the fact that he has missed 5 gw's is a big factor in him not scoring 120+ so far.

Yes. After many, many draft teams I've decided that the Silva will be my City man in midfield.
I decided not to have two City mids and to have one from Arsenal, City and Chelsea plus a medium priced mid(Lallana) and an extremely cheap one(Colback).
Yaya is pretty much every team atm, I think that Silva and Ozil could both outscore Yaya for the remainder of the year. Both are differentials atm, Silva in particular.

Am out of touch folks, how long does Cabaye look like been out for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

Oscar in for Walcott. Resenting the fact this has become a bandwagon move rather than the clever addition it would be last week

Will debate the merits of Ozil in for Arteta for -4 later tomorrow, hopefully he won't rise tonight.

Got in Eriksen for Wally. Left wid a Cool 2.4 M itb for Aguero and Negredo swap. Hope aguero price drops by this GW.. Would replace eriksen wid ramsey if he doesnt show consistency till ramsey comes back. Def is already sorted wid mert cole and kos and 2 cheaps(clyne and whittaker). will replace gazzaniga when i'll use wildcard.

    Baines is a doubt.

Mixed signals coming from Newcastle. Few unofficial reports stating the injury is "worse than first thought", but according to this weeks press conference, he's due back in training Friday and could play at the weekend (unlikely tho)

There'll hardly be many dropping him at this stage. There's been a month to drop him. He's due back soon.
